Anyone have a clue how to repair these things? I've been trying to follow guides on ifixit.com but they're not enough for my liking. I would really appreciate some counsel about how to move forward with my iPhone 4 repair..

I've posted a link to some pictures that describe my trouble in further details. Any help is appreciated, because I've scoured the internet for too long, only to find that there is very little information out there on how to fix these things.

terp...it looks like he has an iphone 4 in pieces and needs a guide on how to put it all back together. don't think that one's covered by apple's warranty.

yeti, I may be able to help you with your unkown screw there. i'll try to take some pics of my phone tonight and post them.

I understand that, but if it broke—say, through a fall—and he attempted to put it back together, then Apple would probably still cover it. At minimum, it’s worth a visit.

Now, if he just decided to pull a hobbyist iFixit and take it apart for the hell of it, he’s screwed, and nothing we can do can help him.

I decided to err on the side of caution.

I would take it back to the Apple Store if not for the fact that Apple seems adamantly opposed to end users taking apart Apple products :)

This iPhone was initially dropped from height by someone other than me. I bought the phone and have been working to refurbish it, just for the experience.. but it hasn't been easy.

I have figured out this so far:

1) The washer in http://www.flickr.com/photos/pur-skill/5551846075/in/set-72157626331006590/ was originally on the logic board, but part of the logic board broke, leaving the washer free to move about
2) The connector from http://www.flickr.com/photos/pur-skill/5552431566/in/set-72157626331006590/ is part of the WiFi antenna. I've ordered a replacement part for $5.99 on eBay
3) Suspect that the headphone + mute + volume button flex that I received is faulty, and will be taking it in for a replacement

I'll figure out the rest once I get a TS1 screwdriver to open up my other phone(s)...
