Anybody try out the public beta for iOS 9 yet? Thinking of giving it a try on my iPad mini.

On the Developer Beta's since Beta1. Probably not the best move as my daily driver phone, but I'm an early adopter.. It's a lot better since Beta2, now 3/Public are quite usable, good battery life, good service, etc; doesn't work with the Apple Remote App right now though which kinda bums me out.

I'm running 9 beta 1 on my 6. The number of apps that don't work is amazing. I going back to 8.4 tonight.

I'm tempted to give it a run on my Mini 2. 8.4 is awful on it. No way in hell I'm putting 8.4 on my phone.

He probably means public beta 1, as opposed to developer beta 3.

im not going to pay apple $99 to beta test software for them.

Fortune favors the bold, I ended up upgrading to the public beta on my iPad. Few problems here and there, but overall not too many problems.

No more forward swipe in safari. Some people are indecisive Apple!

I upgraded my air 2 yesterday. I didn't get a chance to fully test it, but the dual screen for the apps was quite nice and transitioned very smoothly.

Crazy, a week ago I was torn if I wanted to try this on my iPad now I'm considering loading this on my iPhone.

Not a big fan of the new 2 column notification center in landscape mode, and the margins on the side of the notification center when in portrait mode seem huge. Wish they'd widen those a bit.

The new News app is nearly unusable for me currently, crashes when I start scrolling through articles.

It seems the beta really showcases the iPad's new multitasking. The rest of it... not really ready for day-to-day use yet. Seems to be some issues with each application's adherence to memory limits (which cause frequent crash-to-home occurrences).

Oh joy more crashing. My hope is they fix the annoying safari force reloading webpages all the time. Also the fact that I can only click links in landscape mode ~50% of the time kind of sucks too.

Too slow and buggy on my Mini. Now back on slow and buggy 8.4. :(

iPhone 6+ still running smoothly on 8.3 with jailbreak. :)

Still no update to the public beta since beta 4 came out. Kinda angry about that.

I seem to be having a few crashes when using the mail app with Public Beta 2, but the new Reader app works now!

I had a bunch of problems with Mail on b1 seems fine on 2. Considering putting it on my iPhone.

iOS 9 Beta 3 and Beta 5 for developers was released today. I just got rid of my jailbreak since battery life was meh and performance kind of iffy sometimes. Lets see how this is. One thing I don't like is the multi task window (app window?) now for some reason goes to the left instead of right.

EDIT: Also noticing some lag for some of the animations.

The latest beta is noticeably faster and smoother than the previous ones.

Anybody try the 9.1 beta yet? The changes that have been found didn't seem that significant, but the update is 1.4gb.

I didn't bother, they released the 9.0 GM and 9.1 Public Beta within 24 hours of each other. I moved my devices over to the final release of 9.0 and have been happy with that on my phone and tablet. No sense for me to screw with 9.1 Public Beta for new emojis.

That's what I'm thinking too. The update is 1.4gb, seems that there is a lot more in the update besides emoji.

Of course there's more in the update than just some new emoji. Why would they bother to issue a point update just for emoji? But hey, people click stories about them, so news sites write them.

Features include Apple Pencil support, Unicode 8 (reported as "new emoji" when it's more than just that), APIs for Live Photos and 3D Touch, and reported performance improvements over iOS 9 GM.

It's possible that it has performance improvements, however I generally find the beta releases perform worse overall. For example with iOS 9.0 Public Beta 3 my iPad had really poor battery life when I was using it to play music overnight (while I sleep). Moving to the GM brought my battery life back to normal.

Yea. I didnt realize that app the new support came in 9.1. That explains it.

As soon as I get home from vacation I'm switching off of the public beta and back to the general releases.

For what it's worth - I am finding 9.1 to be much improved over 9.0.

I do not find the taco emoji to be an improvement. :)

This.seems faster. and I've notice the apple music app has changed some too. like when you add an song to playlist it checks it off. instead of wondering if you added a song.
