iOS 7 Update Doesn't Make Your iPhone Waterproof

Dear dumb people, a software update will not make your iPhone waterproof. Please fish your phone out of the toilet and put your helmet back on.

"Update to IOS 7 and become waterproof." Then it says, "“In an emergency, a smart-switch will shut off the phone’s power supply and corresponding components to prevent any damage to your iPhone’s delicate circuitry.” The ad goes on to explain what "iOS" is.

Come on now, the apple zealots wanted the magical unicorns that come out of the phones to play with mermaids after upgrading to iOS7. That shouldn't be too much to ask of a software update.
 
The amazing thing is that even if it were true only a complete farking idiot would intentionally dunk their phone based on this ad.

The ad says that in an EMERGENCY the phone will shut down fully to stop components from being damaged. Basic logic would tell you that you would still need to fully dry the device, inside and out, after the dunking, and that doing so on a device that doesn't open would mean leaving it for at least a week in a bucket of silica gel kitty litter or rice, preferably a month.

So basically the people that tried this out aren't just very stupid, they are completely and utter idiots who quite possibly don't deserve to live.

You sound as if you think the ad is real and they are just mis reading it. If that is the case you are the idiot.

This was a fake ad, NO software upgrade can change the basic funidimentals of physical hardware. That is like saying upgrade to iOS 7 and your phone will turn into 24k solid gold. or will turn your ipod into a iPad.
 
My boss was right! We do need dinosaurs back again for these morons.

He says that there are so many dumb people out there that if we had dinosaurs, the problem would be fixed.

Lol... "back again" as if they came back once before. However, I wouldn't count a simple grammatical error on the same scale of stupid as those who think they can have a waterproof phone from a software update. That takes a special breed of stupid.

He knows the ad was fake, he's saying why the hell would someone tempt fate and dunk their phone in water just because it says it is now water proof? That makes you even more dumb than the person who believed the ad was real.
 
Ummm if it gets wet it would shut down anyways due to a short circuit, or am I missing something here?

But you can do that with a waterproof phone.

Look at the video above of what you can do with the waterproof andriod phone.

A true waterproof phone can be dropped into water, you can spill stuff on it and it is fine. There is no need to let it dry for months or anything like that. IF that was needed then the phone isn't waterproof if you have to leave it off for months then, that is what you do with a normal phone if you are lucky and get it wet to be able to save if. Doesn't change that these people are stupid for thinking the ad was real, but that doesn't agree with anything that either of you are trying to state of a real waterproof device.
 
Water-proofing is nice, but who the fuck uses an expensive device near a large source of water?
 
If you were stupid enough to overpay for an iPhone in the first place (especially a plastic one) and you were stupid enough to to believe this commercial...
Please, do a favor to the rest of the world and get yourself sterilized.

Well, one of the more popular spots for Tablet/Portabel Gaming Device usage is the toilet ;) Of course, it's not a large source of water, but people seem to have good aim when dropping all manner of things in between their legs. :p
 
Apple found its niche- dumb people.

While other companies are making fancier and more complicated gadgets which don't sell, Apple is making a killing off the dumb people.
