I'm investigating Point of Sale systems for my work. We're a small jewelry store that currently runs off stock numbers, but a barcode/POS system would simplify sales and especially inventory processes.
I was curious - does anybody have any experience with POS systems? The software we currently use has the capability to print/store/use barcodes and scanners, so we'd just need a hardware solution. I was looking at HP over Dell, mostly because they offer a raid 1 option in their POS systems.
So, if any of you have ever run or set up any POS systems, please give some input! I'm especially wondering how difficult initial setup is, and whether or not it's worth all the work it'd be to install and migrate our entire stock.
