I need to set up an proxy such that machines on the internal network can connect to the Internet to obtain patches etc. Looking for something that will preferably run on Windows Server. Looked around and the most prominent recommendation is to set up Forefront Threat Management Gateway which is total overkill for what I need to do (nevermind the cost).

There has to be a simpler way to just create a proxy and be done with it.

Well I didn't mean it like that. I have a whole bunch of different OS virtual machines on the internal network, they all need to grab stuff from the Internet without to be exposed to the Internet themselves. The box that runs my internal network DNS is Windows so I figured it would be best to have something that runs on there.
