interesting 3d mark results

My 1st 3dm03 was about 10537 with these specs:

p4 2.4 533
asus p4t533 mobo
256mb 1066 rdram
BFG 6800 GT 420/1100

then i switched mobo's and memory and my 3d mark score is 8272 with this specs:

p4 2.4 533
asus p4s800d
512mb PC3200 ( OCZ Enhanced Latency Series Dual Channel Optimized 184 Pin 512MB(256MBx2) DDR PC-3200 - Retail )
BFG 6800 GT 425/1150

The wierd thing is all gameplay got smoother and i recieved higher fps including in farcry but the 3d mark score plumeted.
if you need anymore info, im heading to work but i can reply later...any thoughts would help...
 
Have you installed the drivers the came with your motherboard? It is a common thing that a lot of people forget about.

dropped the OC back to 420/1100 3dmark increased to 9240...checking on the mobo drivers now...
 
wow installed the AGP drivers and IDE drivers and now im up to 11421 @ 415/1100, now to tweak it a bit more and maybe get the best OC i can :) thanks for the help
 
No problem, they sticky-ed it in the Futuremark forum. I would also suggest turning off your virus scanners when you're running 3dmark as well to free memory and speed up a few other things.
