just built my new i7 system:

EX58-UD5
i7 920
Mushkin 3x2gb ddr3 1600

I have discovered that my system always fails test 2 of intel burn test. It does this even with large amounts of voltage. Should I ignore the failure as a false positive?
edit: also fails when I use even tiny amounts of ram (64mb)

Memtest your ram. Re-download IBT. Try with prime95. I'm assuming no OC as of yet?

discovered the cause of the failures. setting IBT to 8 threads always causes the failure. 12 or 16 threads has no such troubles.

I had searched google many times. Hopefully this post helps other people searching for this same problem.

IBT hasn't been updated in awhile and seems to have several bugs, not to mention the "Xtreme Stress" mode he added can't even be used (at least for me) so I'd consider it AWOL and only use LinX which is excellent.

i have just tried using linx and it doesnt load all my threads anyone got any ideas

If you go into the Settings window of LinX you should be able to choose how many threads you want it to run on.
