ELIGIBILITY
What is the Intel® Retail Edge Program?

The Intel® Retail Edge Program was created to provide retail sales professionals with training and information regarding the Intel products sold in their stores in an informative, useful, and fun manner.
Where can I find Sessions?

We're no longer using the name "Sessions." Instead, they are simply courses, or learning activities designed to help you learn more about Intel® products and technology. They can be found in the Learning section of the site.
Where can I find Articles?

Our Articles are now considered text-based Learning activities. They can be found in the Learning Section of the site.
How do I earn Chips for referring someone to the Program?

Chips are awarded for referrals using the Refer-a-Co-Worker feature based on the following:

1) You can refer up to five people to the Program every 90 days

2) Chips are awarded when referrals register for the Program and activate their account

3) Referrals need to register and activate their account within 30 days for you to receive Chips
My friend does not work in retail but would like to use the site. Will I still get Chips for referring him?

Everyone involved with selling Intel® technologies is encouraged to use the resources that the Intel® Retail Edge Program provides. To be eligible for participation with the Program and to access the Web site, Program members need to be employed with an eligible retailer. Chips will not be awarded for referrals to non-eligible Program members.

How does the Store work?

The Store hosts items for Chips trade-ins. The more Chips you have earned and the higher your status, the more purchasing options you have. Supplies may be limited for some store items. It's always first come, first served.

How can I see which activities I still need to complete?

To view your Chips breakdown and to see which activities you need to complete, please check the lists in the Learning section.

What is required to view the site?

In order to view the Intel® Retail Edge Program Web site, you will need a computer with an Internet connection and an Internet browser that supports Java* and cookies, and is using the latest Adobe* Flash* plug-in (if you are not using the latest version, you will be prompted to update when you log in). Agreed, I would love to have a 3930K, and an SSD. If it's an Ivy bridge, I guess I could just build a new computer

Bump for still not having anyone who works in retail.

i did once upon a time and made nice with my old boss i work on a comission basis and make really good money during the holidays so i come back for then. Whenever this deal comes around i have him schedule me for a day so i can renew my status on retailedge :D Works out great for him because he doesn't have to hire a temp and train them for a couple of really busy days and i can make 500-700 bucks for 2 days of work during black friday.

OMFGGGGQ!!!

TAKE MY MONEY!!!!!!!

Welps, looks like I am not gonna wait until Haswell to upgrade afterall :D

man now I need a 2011 mobo :(

I have a nice 1155 sitting waiting for a build due to missing the holiday deal

I really wish they would have included a Extreme series motherboard with this :\ now I have to look around separately for a mobo

God I would give anything to have a friend that works at a Best Buy or something. This sucks. :(

There you go

So is the Intel 520 180gb even a good deal? They charge tax and shipping so it will add like $30 to put it back over $200 and I see deals like this on the deals forums from time to time. I'll be all over the CPU deal at least.

You guys think the Intel 520 SSD is a good pick up @ $184?

I haven't looked into the data storage market so I'm not sure if there is anything out there worthwhile at the same price point when it comes to real world performance & reliability.

I currently have an Intel 320 120GB SSD that's getting pretty full.

As a former partaker in the deals until I left retail, I think that they should have offered a 3770k at $99 or so like they normally do. Much more practical and cheaper to build around than the 3930. Last summer was the 2600k and the holiday deal was the 2700k.

As someone who just got the 2700k on the last deal and I need the upgrade, can't wait to get my hands on this.

Hmm. Maybe I will get a good deal on eBay for a new 6 core lga2011 processor soon..

I would be willing to pay someone $100 extra for the 3930k. Any takers?

maybe if it was a 3770K + 100 bucks I'd think about it.(which would still be ~150 under retail

I need to decide if I want to spend 250 on a mobo for that CPU, and sell the 200 buck mobo I already have sitting in shrink wrap

the extra cores definately add to potential longevity over my 2500K system

Eh...I said the same thing about the i7-970 they offered a while back that I picked up. The 2600k they offered next time would outperform it in most tasks I do. These things are already half-DOA with IB on 1155, IB-E coming, and Haswell on it's way. This isn't a longevity chip. This is a blow out the inventory chip. The best thing this chip is for is to sell it and take the cash unless you're in the 1% of people that would notice a difference between this and a 3770k.
