It's me again. Just bringing this up so that if you planned on participating in the Intel Retail Edge Winter Deal you aren't rushing to do any of the lessons and can stretch the pain out over a couple of weeks.

The last time my prognostication was accurate so I will go 2 for 2 here. I say a 5930 and 4790 are going to be on the deal if they follow the same trend from last time. The 4790 would be easy to build behind or get for an upgrade but the 5930 would be a tough sell considering it is a whole new platform. I guess if I sell all the stuff around my 2 year old 3930 build, it would be a start towards a 5930 build. Or maybe I just get a GTX980 from Santa :D

Anybody else in?

I'll hop aboard the speculation train and agree with your guess of the two processors.

What I really want them to do is offer something like their NUC as the "Third offer" and replace the silly SSD deal they might have.

I couldn't agree more. I have half-a-dozen ideas that I would use a NUC for. At the current prices, it's tough to justify. But if they made it around $200, I would be all over it.

can i get my friends info who works at staples and start gathering points now?

I would have never of joined the site if it wasn't for this thread last summer I tired to join in Winter of 2013 but had login problems I got over 69,000 points since summer spent them already. Looking for a Devil's Canyon I-7 4670k so I can just drop it in.
I passed all three testes recently without any help except for a little google they were tuff the specialist test was the hardest one professional test was a breeze. I got Total War Rome II for passing the 2nd test.

The best part of the program is having my crappy retail job and actually verifying that I still work there which some days due to stupidity is a challenge for me just to keep my job and keep the people after me (manager tards) at work out of the picture.

The amount of greed on the intel forums is kinda disturbing really my god.....
It's Christmas for the customers =) not you....

I knew they wouldn't offer the 8 core =P

My prediction was spot on because they never offer the uber chip. I guess I can't blame them really when they are really hooking it up in the first place.

Not sure what I am going to do with either of these yet...

Tempted to snag a 5930k, but really have no reason to since I got the 4930k in the last deal.

Sad that you don't have to deal with the public all day to get a great deal on a processor?

Sad that I CAN get this deal, but don't want to upgrade my MB and RAM to take advantage of it.
And I don't have to deal with the public thank goodness.

Yeah, as long as the pay stub says the right retail location, you are good to go so that is nice.

As for the deal, I am having a hard time justifying the same mobo and ram to get the 5930k to update my 3930k for the same price I can get a GTX980 to replace my GTX680.

Precisely, I wish they had some other items, like a NUC or something.

It's a real shame that DDR4 is so pricey because I would like a 5930K. The 4790K is decent but the thermal paste sucks. Solder all the way, just like my 2600K.

whats the last day i can get in on this, ill ask my friend about it

DDR4 is way too expensive to make a 6 core x99 build defeats the purpose of building one unless some awesome game it going to take advantage of it Intel is a CPU company though for the most part gaming is more GPU dependent.

I have a Z97 Motherboard going for the 4 core Devils Canyon if you can't sell your old processor are you just suppose to give it away ???

Thank god I just found out about this site recently otherwise I would of upgraded over a dozen times or more over the years which would of been pointless.

That's kind of the point of this. Getting more hardware for less. You are saving over $300 on the 5930k alone which you can put towards the more expensive ram and mobo. The 4970k is to also give you lots of power for a great price. As for upgrading all the time being "pointless", I think you may want to find another site.

I want to retire from Retail someday =)

If that means not having the latest CPU =)

Wednesday is the go live. I am going for one 4790k, personally.

I looked at all the x99 motherboards none of them seemed reliable so I would be afraid to go that way.

I have off tomorrow actually on vacation so I can get a jump on a 4790k.

I didn't do 150 learning modules for nothing...

I'm going with the 5930k. I did 100 learning activities to get Rockstar pricing.

I've done these for the last two years and I've not seen either processor sell out the first day. In fact, I did the summer deal last time several days in and I was fine. That said, if you wait, you're going to wait a while for the processor to arrive. It took my last one almost a month I think. Early orders seem to go out much faster.

Can't wait to do a new build.

I want a 5930k but don't want the price tag that goes with the motherboard and ram that is needed to build with it. What does your build look like?

And I woke up super early ready to buy the 4790k but didn't see the "afternoon" part of the deal :p

It looks like it cost too much lol. I only do a build every 3-5 years though, so I'm OK with it. 0% interest for 15 months also helps;)

any idea of what time this afternoon the deal will be open?

I have found it to be very random. I remember it used to be opened up at the early hours the day of. Last year it was in the evening. Refresh is my friend today.
