Similar to the MSI Mate z97 deal, but with a MicroATX board.

I see the board has 6 sata ports, how would this do as a home server/plex backend?
Works fine, that's what I'm using it for. Overclocks effortlessly on the Z97 PC Mate to 4.2Ghz while remaining cool at least, so the two-core only is a non-issue and more than powerful enough for multi-tasking use.I see the board has 6 sata ports, how would this do as a home server/plex backend?
Mine doesn't... aren't you running your HDMI signal directly to your receiver, and then from your receiver to the TV? That's the normal way, and that way it plays sound whether the TV is on or off.aldamon said:Damn, no optical/coax out. Can't use this as a HTPC if I can't play music with TV off. HDMI spec turns off sound with display Oh well.
Alright guys.
Since I missed t he Z97 deal hopefully I can have you guys chime in and help me out.
Will this board get me to 4.0ghz?
What are the difference from z97 and b85? I don't overclock, nor do I need any special features. The motherboard will support higher end cpu's?
Nevermind, read some of the motherboard reviews on newegg and did a quick google search, I'll pass.
Yeah, that is kind of how I feel. Really wish the z87m gaming + g3258 for $80 would come back! http://slickdeals.net/f/7602454-int...-motherboard-80-after-20-rebate-free-shipping
Is this B85 board really that bad?
