Intel Core i9-9900K ES Processor (QQBZ, 65W TDP, 2.6Ghz Base, 4.4Ghz Turbo)

These all depend on the price you get them for. I have a feeling you are less likely to win the silicon lottery with them, so I wouldn't expect miracles with a 5Ghz+ OC. I have heard a lot about compatibility with ES CPUs, but my QQBY (essentially the same with a 95W TDP, higher clocks, and unlocked) works in every board I've tried it in.

Also note that this qspec is a 9900 not a 9900k and is locked because of that:

Still getting a 8 core 16 thread i9 that can turbo into the 4.2-4.4 range is pretty good at $260

An R7 3700X is $274.49 on Amazon right now and is basically a better CPU in every way. eBay prices on Intel parts sometimes make no sense - if you're building new and need 8C/16T in 65W go AMD, if you already have a top of the line Z370/Z390 board I can't imagine not having at least an 8700K in it already, which when overclocked will be a faster CPU.

Oh i agree with you. In almost al cases Zen 2 is the better option. The only issue is right now x570 boards are hard to find at reasonable prices. I was just saying it was pretty good, not that people should buy it.
