They are doing 10nm next year not 7nm, 7nm is 21 on servers at best hope and desktop is only a 'maybe' for 21 at this point, expected 22..7nm won't be til late 2020, early 2021.
Another chipset? My Z390 is EOL I guess.
Right... I would have considered a drop in upgrade, but eff buying another motherboard for a minimal boost over my 9900k.
Why does that seem AMD are stupid about it:? Not sure the meme is a reflection of reality
Everything is air cooled, even water.

A new MB needed for a refresh? Haha.
They are kidding right?
Pretty crappy silicon at the bottom end. The 4/8 10100 is only 3.2 ghz vs the 7700 with the same tdp.https://www.guru3d.com/news-story/i...hipset-rumored-to-be-released-april-2020.html
65 Watts TDP for the non K version the only thing holding up these enthusiast cpus in the past were the high thermals.
They're desktop CPUs... TDP is pretty nebulous here. We'd need to see how they compare versus 6700K / 7700K, as well as 8700K and 9900K.Pretty crappy silicon at the bottom end.

Shouldn't expect miracles, but if the K parts are relatively nice bins, that's a bonus. They should all hit 5.0GHz.
Oh man, that brought back some memories.
so all the new high end CPU's will have HT?...with their last major CPU release Intel removed HT from some of the CPU's
