I know, it's a very noob question. But I'm totally green with mobile parts. I plan to swap my ipad for Acer Switch 10, and I've a question, regarding mobile disk. this hybrid has only 32 gigs of space, so can I buy a lets say 2TB externalHDD, install programs on it - like games and such, or will it cause issues with registry and general trouble with Windows 8?

Depends on the app/game. Some rare things will only install to C:, but most things should work as long as the drive letter stays the same. You can also use symlinks which may help in some cases.

One trick is to map the external drive to the same drive letter each time. To do this open Disk management and assign it a letter, then Windows will remember it for this drive.

It should be fine as long as when you plug it in, it remains the same drive letter.
