Installing mini-pci wireless adaptor...wire antennas required?

My Dell c640 died, so I'm gutting all the useful crap for my wife's HP lappy, like processor, memory, etc.. One of the things I want to salvage is a mini-pci wireless card so she doesn't have to rely on the wireless pcmcia card that sticks out. However, even though her's has a mini-pci slot space for one, the internal wires you'd snap on to it aren't there. Can I just pull the Dell's wires and route them through the HP? Would that work, or is she stuck using a wireless card? Thanks for reading!

You would have to run the wires for maximum signal. The wires can only be run if there is space for them. The dell wires should work if they will reach.
