When I start up and get to my desktop, some items that I want to open lags! It will actually take about a minute for them to open up. This only occurs at startup.

Things such as my DSL network connection, right clicking properties on My Computer. Opening third party programs start right away. Is this because it's x64 corporate? x64 professional? Should I be using home edition of x64? Is it something that's starting up? Could it be the motherboard not responding to the OS quickly enough?

probably have too many things starting up at start-up. go to msconfig and disable some of those programs and it will load faster.

its a fresh install. Can it be broadcom 64 bit driver for the onboard lan? I'm starting to think I should go back to non x64.

I found out the problem is my gigabyte netlink gigabit onboard lan. The driver I have installed lags my x64. I can't uninstall it! I use the device manager, then uninstall driver. After a restart, it finds the hardware and automatically installs driver. Before installing it the firrst time, it wouldn't find a driver for it. I had to get a beta one from gigabyte's website for win x64. How do I install my own? The update driver doesn't work.
