I just installed windows 7 on my 80gb drive and left my tb drive alone. I installed fine, but when I'm trying to access my tb drive, I get permission errors. I can't open any movies or pictures on the tb drive.
It says, "You don't currently have permission to access this folder". So I hit continue then it says, "You have been denied permission to access this folder." So then I click on the security tab, click continue, and give permission rights to my name. Then finally once I get into the folder, try to run the avi file or whatever I get an error in windows media player saying, "Windows Media Player cannot access the file. The file might be in use, you might not have access to the computer where the file is stored, or your proxy settings might not be correct"
I was reading to fix this problem on XP all you have to do is unstall the security portion through the control panel, but I don't see it listed on the Windows 7 control panel.
Any help will be appreciated.
