Inside the Mind of Stuart - Twelve years ago an [H]'er by the name of Mark blessed us with the series of stories you will find published once again here today. Tech based humor directly from "that guy" that we have all run into at least once. It has been a while since we have shared Inside the Mind of Stuart, and we hope you enjoy it again, or for the first time.

Wow, am I ever starting to feel old.

I remember these posts all too well.

While we are strolling down memory lane, does anyone know whether Asia Carerra is still a friend of the [H] ? LOL

I remember when Steve still had his own web page with the an interview with Asia and computer model pornography.

Ugh, now I feel old(er). I still remember when these stories were first released.

Those letters feel like a verbal striptease, I felt my mind soak up it's awesomeness, and I think it made my week.

Yep I remember these. I remember the Asia Carrera stuff from Steve too. Damn I am old.

Wasn't around when these came out, now I'm practically dying of laughter (as is a co-worker.).

Am I missing something? No link?

I think this is/was supposed to be contextual, absurdist humor, and that you would like it because you know 'that guy' and like technology. It was also allegedly trotted out for nostalgic purposes.

Instead, an awkward moment was shared by all. Not the funny kind of awkward. The bad kind of awkward. The 'uncle who just told his eight-year-old niece a dirty joke in front of a room full of adults' kind of awkward.

First page wasn't funny, lost interest after that.

I read the whole thing. Feel better in knowing you didn't miss much in the proceeding 15 pages.

Sucked so hard you had to read all 16 pages just to be sure?

Well you see in the good old days, people got it. These days, well, the crowd is different and people aren't as much fun.

Oh how I have missed this.

I laughed then, and still laughing now, great comedy. :D

It's late 90's humor frankly...back when being silly on the internet was still somewhat "fresh". Back when people used the word "fresh". I mean hell, hampsterdance.com ? That has been cloned 1,000,000,000x over by now, but back then, it was somehow unique.

These were much better back then. Some of these were lame back then too, hit or miss really. But it reminded me of a time when computers were at their peak and were enjoyable ... Before I decided to turn it into my career and find ways to hate them!!

Still love computers but they are staying a hobby from now on I think.

This was so great back in the day. There should be a "Where are they now?" segment on Stewart.

What do you know. Hypothermia is still there as is Asia's Corner. http://****************************/asia/allasia.htm

WTF is this dude?

LMAO, honestly I don't understand... but do I want to know?

That was a hilarious read and I still think Asia Carrera is hot! Didn't she move to Utah or something?

:D I totally for got about the Stuart pages :D Good times indeed, NyQuil makes it all better

I read the link I was given and didn't find humor in it. I honestly don't understand the contention here but I gather that there is a prominent nostalgia element for many people. I myself did things when younger that I still have a fond place in my heart for that I wouldn't engage in today.

That being said, the Bill Gates letter I read actually made me feel sad as opposed to chipper. Maybe I'm a bastard and need to fuck off.

Who knows.

Even though I don't "remember this" I'm still old.

Some of that was really funny. seems like I read at least some of these years ago.

I want to know what happened to Stuart after he went to the Reynolds factory.... did the monkeys get him before he got there, or did he succesfully escape to Canada and meet up with Betty?

And what about Mr. Frisky Kitten?

I too find these posts great, I can still remember back to a friend and I reading and laughing our asses off back then at these... Whatever did happen to Stuart and Mr Frisky Kittens? dare we ask for more?

I actually went looking for this a year or so ago.

Should I be worried?

No, I have no fear of the monkies,
it's the parakeets that are evil.

[God, I'm old]

For some reason, Kyle never banned me, Why don't I post anymore?

I still read the front page every day.

PCs got boring?
Did I grow old?
Must be it.

Or those dang Monkeys are more insidious then I thought,

Well, at least you can't say I didn't give it a fair shot. It seems like you really think this is funny, and I couldn't definitively say in response, "It sucks so hard it'll probably rip a hole in the space/time continuum... congratulations, Mayans, you were right all along, this will be the end of the world," without reading all the way through.

You're always asking people to RTFA, and that's exactly what I do.

I'm sure 12 years ago this would have been just as unfunny to me as it is now... except now it has the added bonus of having dated pop culture references (everyone loves dated humor) and the social awkwardness of trying to explain why it should be funny (explaining inside jokes and forgotten cultural references in laborious detail always makes it funnier)... And we have the whole nostalgia thing going on, which unlocks a hidden bonus feature of alienating younger viewers or people who never had enough emotional investment in this sort of subject matter to find it humorous to begin with.

Why was this top news again?

Dang dude your such a buzzkill! If you ran this site with that attitude I would have stopped coming here 10 years ago! I love the humor on HardOCP :(

Good stuff.

For those not finding the stories somewhat humorous, I think you have to know people that share a lot of the same Idea's/oddities/imagination/paranoia that Stuart has, & growing up in the time period that you understand a lot of the 70s/80s TV references. Btw, I know 2 people that had me thinking they resemble Stuart in a lot of ways. 1 of them in a hell of a lot of ways & he's about 45 now. If I didn't know better, he would pass the the authentic Stuart.

Thanks for bringing those back Kyle. Wish I had read them during the original posting time, I can only imagine the discussions you all had.

Well, duh. Had to make an educated decision. That laughing was due to the incorrect grammar. Yea, that's it. :D

I remember those bad boys. I also remember Asia and getting a DVD of her (Search for the Snow Leopard) from a link. Good ol' days.

Now, [H] is a bunch of pussies....... :O HOLY SHIT DUDE! I'm kidding. Seriously. Don't ban me, bro!

lol I bought that DVD too.

Back then it was all about General Mayhem.
