Towers are $149 each and the R12 is $169 each. That's shipped. You will not get a better deal for a new 2.1 or 2.2 setup that will blow you away. I have had two of the R12 for a while now. Not the top of the line but you could easily spend a lot more for the same sound. They do the job though. I do not really miss the movie theater with one of each of these coffee table sized subs on each side of the couch.

I just ordered the 253 speakers. So I can't say how they sound. However, short of lacking bass impact (hence the R12) folks really rave about them. Comparing them to Revels which their parts and design are derived from. Pull the fucking trigger. Life is too short for crappy sound.

They are right decent subs. Not fast enough for my audiophile system but plenty good for the tv.
 
Thanks for the heads-up on this. I purchased the sub last night while it said it was backordered, but just got shipping confirmation and it now says it's in stock. I was pleased with the R253s and then very pleased with the R263s and hope I'm equally pleased with the sub.
 
Just got my 253s running. Anyone bi-amp or bi-wire yours? I don't like the idea of using the jumpers. Never sure what purity of metal they are using. I plugged my wire into the top terminals so that at least the highs got a clean current from my amp.

I bi-amp the 263s and it really brought them alive. I don't know how much power you are pushing and double wattage doesn't mean double loud but damn does it sound really good.
 
Good to hear that they improve. I will have to swing another amp then. Just running a little emotiva a-100 ATM.
 
I just bi wired them with some cheap amazon 14awg. Highs noticeably improved. Detail and sound stage too. So at least bi wire them. I need to get them a proper dac and another amp to see how much they scale up. I just got a Soncoz LA-QXD1 dac for my modded x ls encores and will try it on these too. Tools chocolate chip trip sounds tits on these with a crappy dac though.
