I would definitely second World Of Goo, Defense Grid, and Defcon.

Agreed with the rest of the posters above. They're all really decent

If you're looking for something sort of artsy and strange, The Path is a very very odd game

darwinia and multiwinia are pretty cool

Those are three I've played and love. My favorite out of those is probably Audiosurf. I haven't necessarily logged a whole lot of hours into the game but it's nice to start up, play through a few songs and then go on with whatever else I was doing. I've also been known to play it for hours at a time. I wouldn't call it a game which will blow you away or anything but it is simple fun.

Maybe the game is good, but that video makes me want to stay away from that game.
