Immediate temp increase at idle after enabling SLI?

Got my new GTX570s installed (two of them in SLI).

Both idle around 46-50 degrees C.

When I enable SLI in the NVIDIA control panel the top card immediately starts rising and goes up to 70-72 C before stabalizing.

This is at idle, at the desktop, with nothing running in the background.

Is this normal?
