iMac wont work with iPod?

I went to attach my iPod to my iMac and when iTunes opened up, it would recognise the iPod, but it will not work with it because it says its formatted for windows. What do I do? I saw Senuti and another program on bestmacsoftware.com, but are third party programs my only options?

Edit: Eh, I just went ahead and used Senuti, and transferred all the contents to iTunes and restored to factory defaults and it works just fine now.
