iChat crappyness

iChat seems to be a pice of crap, and I need help for it.

Problem: iChat uses all system power

Steps I do to reproduce it:
Open iChat
About 30min later, iChat starts to use all of the power available to the system.

now I doubt that iChat needs all of my power to run correctly.

what is wrong with iChat?

im on the dual 2Ghz g5 with stock config and all software updates

when you say it is using all the power...am I correct in assuming it is using 100% CPU load? and are you checking in CPU monitor (I think it is called that...don't have my ibook up right now) to see what your CPU usage is? this is also the first I have heard of this issue and I run iChat all day at work and so do most of the people in my group so I know it is not common

Its using like 90%. (other stuffs running, like top which uses like 10%)
I have checked it in top, and in Activity Monitor. same thing

Download Proteus, it is a very good IM client, and can handle just about everything (ICQ, AIM, etc)...

Yeah, drop iChat. I like Adium a lot. Tabbed chatting is beautiful.
