I just put in a 6850k and I was pretty surprised. I am running 20c idle, and 40s with load in prime95. This is OCed at 4.2ghz with 1.2v. My 6800k took 1.25 volts to get the same oc and was easily 10c hotter. Is there any reason to push this or not?

How high to 6850's get usually?

Ah. Makes sense. I just got done reading at silicon lottery and it seems they wanted under 1.44v at 4.6. I believe you are correct for my purposes.

I got this from silicon lottery " 1.44V/4.6, 1.408V/4.5, 1.376V/4.4, 1.344V/4.3."

So, It seems like it is not worth it to go over 4.2. I will try 4.4... but if I cannot get it under 1.3, I will keep 4.2 (so likely stuck at 4.2 here)

Ok final go around.

4.6Ghz 1.33v

1421 CB R15
190 single core.

59C max under load

I'm stopping here

edit: oh let me just retract that. Small FFTs in prime95 destroyed me. Back to 4.4 or possibly 4.2

No luck for me and my 6800k. It takes over 1.4v to make even 4.1ghz work. I could do 4.2 on 5/6 cores, but one core is far less efficient sadly.

ah, that sucks. My 6800k did [email protected] no worries.

I ended up setting it at 1.21v and 4.3ghz for the 6850k. Stable in prime, low in temps.

When i went up in voltage, the temp would quickly rise. I have my fans all running 1400 rpm, so im not pushing that either. im maxing in the 70's on prime small ffts and in games like 20C lol. I could probably up it if I didnt need to to be stable at balls to the wall for x number of minutes.
