i5 2500k & Xig S1283

I am in the process of ordering parts for a new i5 2500K build and have a spare Xig S1283.

Has anyone used the S1283 on an OC'd 2500K? The Xig worked great on the X3 720 that is being replaced but am unsure of the performance on the Sandy.

Trying to not buy yet another HSF.

Well, I have never used the xig s1283. But it looks to be a pretty big heatsink. I do know that the 2500k runs pretty cool even when overclocked. so I'm sure It will work. I would guess that it runs cooler clock for clock in comparison to the x3 720 because of the fact that the 2500k comes out of the 32nm process while the 720 is 45nm. Why not just install it and test it out for yourself? If It seems to be running hot then you can start thinking about buying a new heatsink.
