Yes sir! Only changed the Mobo, CPU and had to go to DDR4! Same Windows install to boot!

If you are not overclocking, then why a K version? BTW Ryzen 2 should be about as fast and a lot cheaper.

I agree. The lack of vram would hold a 970 sli back. I use to have sli 970 and meh. Not to mention the lack of sli support out there now.

Ditch that old ass SB. Life is better in 2018. I’ve got multiple 8700Ks @ 5.0 and things are just freakin fast. Not to mention all of the NVMe/Optane goodness on the Z370 chipsets.

The biggest drawback to an overclocked 2500K will be the thread count. If you had a 2600K the answer would be somewhat situational, but in almost every case the 8700K even at stock would be a big upgrade over 2500K @ 4.4Ghz

Agreed. When I went from 2500k to 2600k then 2700k (slightly better OC was trying to get more life out of current setup) HT did help but not as much as going from a 2700k @ 4.6ish to a 6700k @ 4.6ish!
