Hello,

After admiring the SFF scene for almost a year now, I have decided to finally make the switch. I've been reading up on Intel, and have been very interested in their new C2D processors, but after reading around, it looks as if OC support for mATX will be bland for them, so I decided on another AMD. I tried to keep my budget for a new Mobo, Processor, and Ram under 650, and this is what I have come up with. I have already ordered my case. (Silverstone SG01 Evolution)

Abit NF-M2 Sckt. AM2 Motherboard

AMD Athlon 64 X2 4600+

Corsair XMS2 2GB DDR2 800

I will be popping in my 7900GT and 800Gb's of HDD goodness too. Like I said, looking for suggestions, but this looks to be the core for my build. Also, what heatsink for my CPU would you guys recommend?

I have the Abit, and it's a dream. I would wait and go with a Brisbane. It should be out this month.

If you have a PSU that has a 120mm fan on the bottom you can put in a Silverstone NT06 with its fan removed (using the PSU fan for flow), a good quiet pc solution.

I've put Zalman CNPS7000B in several SG-01's with good results, and almost as quiet as a fanless NT06.

Yeah, I was looking at the Zalmans, but they don't seem to have any lo profile ones for AM2.

Are you trying to tell me you are asking for advice before you purchased everything? Bless you.

lol, the money from selling my laptop (650) came today so tonight I'm probably going to be purchasing my stuff. Just wanted to make sure I'm not going to fuck up.

Will the brisbane be AM2? If so, I could just proceed to order my stuff and when it gets here just pop it in later.

Actually, after further investigation, the Brisbanes are supposed to be sold to OEM in Dec, and then to retail the first quarter of '07, so I don't know if you'll be able to get your hands on one. They are AM2 though.

ok, thanks. I think I'll just pull the trigger now and wait until after Christmas to get one.
