i hate adware!....plz help

well bout 2 days ago some how my computer got hit with a major dossage of adware and a lovely assortment of crap...ive tryed everything ....from nortor to ad-aware, to changing the boot processes through msconfig even cut the files and burning them to a cd........yet there still remains the god forsaken adware......plz help a noob out
 
The programs that seem to get rid of the most crap for me are spybot s&d, spyware blaster and adaware. Make sure your definition files are up to date for all your programs. I also use avg anti virus. Its free and works well. All can be found here at http://www.majorgeek.com. This site also has a multitude of other programs you can try if those dont work. Also dont use internet explorer. Go and download firefox and use that instead. That will cut down on future issues for you. http://www.mozilla.org
 
Also use Hijackthis for really tough stuff and even the Microsoft Antispyware utility is worth a shot. And yes, use Mozilla Firefox, you will never touch that dirty, icky, poopey IE ever again.

you might try running those spyware removal tools in safe mode. i find that i have more success that way. and yes, firefox is your friend.

this is pissin me ...grrr.....i think im gonna rerformat...AGAIN this will be the second time in a month yes its pathetic.....anyone feel like compiling a list of programs i should check out after i format?
 
speeking of that do u think the crap on my harddrive will keep me from reformating?

1) Check out the link above - it's a list of directions and programs to help fix the problem.

2) Except in very rare cases format/install will solve your problems
 
Unfortunate enough, the worst case scenarios of spyware infection have lead me to complete system rebuilds. Some of this shit takes so long to find, track and remove its not worth my time or the clients.
 
Format your hdd and reinstall everythin. Use firefox and set it to reject auto-install programs and not allow cookies (unless you need them). Stop visiting porn sites and configure a firewall, preferably a non-onboard one (I.E not done on your puter).

If you really dont like spyware, buy a mac or learn linux, solves the problem instantly.
