Alright so I snagged a 4670k from MC today and just installed it. Running prime 95 with out of the box settings without overclocking and my temps seem a bit high. I get around 24-28 C idle and when its under 100% load my highest core temp is 62C and a spread of about 9C under that in the other 3 cores.
I am using a coolmaster hyper 212 + with 1 120mm fan, have 5 case fans and a full tower case with the side open. My 1055T had barely reached 60C O/Ced to 3.8ghz.
The only thing that might of affected my temps is the way I applied artic silver mx-4. I smudged it a little on the side before i put it on.
I have another 120mm fan on the way so I can do push/pull on my cpu HSF. I hope that makes a difference. If i had the 4770k with HT enabled I would imagine my load temps would be ~65C on stock clocks.
Im going to tinker with and overclock in the next few days. I may reapply the thermal paste too as that may be an issue.
Anyone else who bought Haswell mind sharing their temps?
Also is an 8C spread between all 4 cores normal?
