Got a few Best Buy discord notifications today. I’m not really interested in a 3080 but tried for fun anyway. Actually got cards into the cart!

I was refreshing BB all afternoon and never managed to snag one. Seemed like I was 5 seconds behind every time one went live. Congrats on snagging one.

I think i'm giving up the F5 game. I had an auto-notify in within the first two hours on four different EVGA SKU's. I'm just going to wait for that to pan out.
 
I've been casually looking for a 3080 but haven't really been trying too hard...I really want a 3080 20GB or maybe even a 3070 16GB...if I get a 3080 10GB I might just sell it...plus I can't start my Zen 3 build until November 5th so I'm in no hurry

I have 3 different sku's in the Notify me queue. Had them since Sep 17th. Here's hoping I get notified pretty soon. Like another poster said, I will probably use it as a step-up when the 20gb versions drop.

don't depend on a Step-Up...I doubt EVGA is going to allow a Step-Up to the same model

They allow it and it is specifically mentioned in their policy that a VRAM increase is a valid step up with the 1060 3GB to 6GB used as an example.

I was able to snag a 3080 and a 3090 founders editions from best buy yesterday (don't worry I just got one for a friend who is out of town)

I was thinking about trying to snag a 3090 FE and sell the 3080 FE, but I checked my case, and a 3090 FE would not fit. Bummer.
 
About once a day my PC has been locking up with a MSI 3080 Ventus. Strangely while doing not GPU intensive items.

I am downclocking the GPU 100Mhz to see if it goes away (stock is over 2k Mhz core...) It’s a straight up freeze of the PC...

Besides that no issues.

Roblox and internet videos. I haven’t had much time to fiddle with it.

The whole PC is new, it’s possible it’s not the GPU, I was throwing it out there. 10900k/16GB.

OCed? XMP? That being said, that low load 3D scenario you are running is probably the situation where the card will hit the highest clock speed.
 
So I wanted to let you all know my eVGA GeForce RTX 2070 Super XC Gaming card arrived today. I have already enrolled it in the eVGA Step-Up Program for an eVGA GeForce RTX 3080 FTW3 Ultra and have uploaded the invoice as eVGA suggested. I am officially in Step 1 of the process. Now...I wait. Will install the new card next weekend. Out!

Look forward to hearing from you next year. Probably when you could also walk in and get one but I think this way is less hassle and you may catch a break.

Hope you also have a notify sign up as a backup. Am much more optimistic of my 9/21 or 9/22 sign-ups coming through before my 10/3 2060 KO step-up.

-100Mhz has seemed to resolve the issue so far. Interessttinnngg. I thought the latest drivers were supposed to fix this. 1920 core is fine with me for now.

I’ll probably eventually bios flash it or mess with voltage. Too busy to care atm.
 
EVGA will once again only be shipping FTW3's (Ultra?) for the next week, which makes this the third week in a row.

So out of their 5 existing models, they are only manufacturing one, with maybe 1 shipment per week. Just to remind you, this is NOT a paper launch, guys. Don't even think such crazy thoughts.

Also fun fact: This is the longest I've gone without a complete gaming PC in 20 years. Thanks nvidia.

That disappoints me. I should be high on the list for the 3080 Black, as I entered the queue on Sept 17th 5am.

Some people like myself actually managed to get in the que the night before and I think there was probably more people queuing for the cheaper models. I actually queued for the XC3 the night before and then the FTW3 the following morning right at launch time. I got the email for my FTW3 but even 4 days later I didn't get anything for the XC3 which i had queued earlier.
