I was playing CS:GO Competitive when in the middle of the match I randomly got disconnected. I am sure it is not a problem with my internet, because the only online game that I get disconnected from is CS GO.

I tried to re-connected but could not! The game gave me the following error whenever I tried to re-join: "Failed to Connect To Match"

And the worse is I got 7 Days Competitive Cool down

Why in the burning hells do I have to suffer this cool down? It was because of steam's fault. Not mine. This was perhaps 10th time that I got disconnected and could not reconnect.

Who should I contact to remove the ban?
Is there any way to have the cool-down revoked so I can play again?

Many thanks!

Sounds like you need a cool down. And they don't give you a 7 day ban for abandoning one match.

It's not an uncommon problem. Contact steam support.

I play csgo all the time, I never get disconnected. I don't even see it happen to people I'm playing with.

Steam Support cannot modify or remove a competitive cooldown matchmaking ban regardless of the circumstances under which it was issued. See our Competitive Cooldown article for more information.

OMG

Makes me wonder if someone didn't just DDoS this guy for being a hothead pain in the ass and wearing everyone's patience real thin. I mean wow.

Is a ban ever issued on any game/forum anywhere that isn't for one of those reasons? ;)

damn, they ban you from disconnecting from a match?...they should get this rule into Dark Souls MP...lots of people disconnect when losing in that game...people need to take their beating like a man :D

You have to "disconnect" a lot to get a week ban. One time won't get you a week ban.

people with unreliable internet connections have the potential to be screwed...you can't really legislate if a person is purposely disconnecting or not...unless the person just so happens to lose service every time he is losing

I know the best way to get advice on a forum is to put up a giant bold red font and ask for help.

Seriously. Calm down. Go outside for a few days , find something else to do. You obviously will not be getting the ban removed PERIOD.

Competitive gaming...

Go outside for a week. I hear the graphics are great. Physics could use some work though.

Yup, beer and visit your favorite porn site to blow off some Steam.

Whoa, that is some massive nerd rage if I ever saw it.

Chill out, its a game and will be back for you to play in 7 days. Sounds like you could use a break from it anyway.

if your disconnecting that often, find and fix the issue or stop playing until you get a better connection... your costing your team potential loss because of your issues.

Sounds like a good reason to find a different game to play. If the game is so OMGWTFL33T hardcore that it doesn't tolerate disconnections, and that is an issue for you, play another without such issues. BF3, TF2, Black Ops 2, none of them are so encumbered.

Understand that often the more "hardcore" the game also the more fussy the rules. Some "hardcore" types are extremely particular about what is and isn't ok in a game and extremely intolerant of people who have problems. So try something less bitchy.

Uh, thats like me putting how ever hundreds of hours in a game and getting booted for another 100, I'd be pissed. People, try to look cool and hip all you want, were all nerds on a computer forum, and more in depth, posting in the game section. Pretty sure a passion of yours was either broken or non operable, you would pissed too. Its OK to have emotions, may very well be the only thing we can't duplicate in this new world of tech.

STEAM ain't it Great :) Drops me sometimes in TF2 for nothing. Thankfully I have an SSD and can get back in in seconds unlike the old WIn 98 days with TF1, that took some time to log back in when that bitch crashed :D

Consider this a blessing. Take the time off and re-think your life.

Because, as we all know.... CS in ANY form is the root of all evil.

Reminds me of my UT days. I used to make people rage quit in the middle of a match all the time. They'd even be nearly winning as I joined the game only to steal the win from them. Muahaha

The connection problem and then getting banned is very very frustrating. That's why I used capital, red and big letters. I am sorry. I hope you forgive me. But please try to understand me, please. I was very very frustrated.

use the 7 days to format and clean install the OS and game maybe it'll solve the issue.

Can you still play casual matches? If so, just do that for a bit instead.
Competitive games need to have a baseline standard. Unfortunately, disconnects are bad regardless of who's at fault. When you decide to do competitive play, it's up to you to ensure everything is copacetic.

OP neckbeard basement dweller needs to leave that hunk of crap game and get on BF4 in a few days. Cool people will be playing BF4 yo!

:D

This rage is beneath you, good man, but even I know the burning intensity of the fires of fury. Seek refuge in the arms of fate, sir, and sail with the wind! EXCELSIOR!

Steam is great, Steam doesnt drop me, now the actual game on the other hand might... but i also cant recall, only time i am kicked from a game is ping issue or if i lose power.

Wait a second... CS:GO bans people who excessively disconnect while losing for 7+ days? I might just have to get back into CS.

It also sounds like OP got the "participation trophy" too many times when he was a kid and having resentment issues by rage quitting anytime things don't go his way.
