Everything I've read says HTC/Verizon will start pushing Froyo to the Incredible on the 5th. Anyone heard differently or have updated info? I've tried using the leaked version, but my Inc bricks every time I try to update the radio to 2.0. I'm hoping the official release doesn't cause the same problem.

5th of what..August? Doubtful...HTC has been constantly saying 'soon', which meant towards the end of the year. I'm DYING for the update so my phone will stop randomly rebooting. Good Christ that pisses me off.

I Hope it's soon, but this guy at work said his Droid X will get it before the Incredible which makes no sense.

Skimmed some of the Droid Incredible forums yesterday and I was reading that Verizon's policy is to have the manufacturer test for a minimum of 4 weeks with a new OS version, and then they also test afterwards for a minimum of 4 weeks, and then slowly roll it out to make sure some odd feature doesn't overload the network.

In otherwords, I doubt it. More importantly, will they allow it to be a free WiFi hotspot in spite of shutting the functionality down on one of the other models (Droid X I think)?

OTOH here's a tweet from the Verizon Wireless SoCal PR guy.

@Greg525 @SkruffyJew Keep an eye out for a notification on ur device this month as it rolls out to customers, and then u can opt-in.

/sidenote: also saw it being referred to as Dinc :)

Froyo is supposed to support mobile hotspot, but there's a huge issue with weather or not Verizon will disable it and make you pay monthly if you want it.

My Incredible won't even connect to my wifi at home or anywhere. It never gets a signal and manually adding it doesn't work.

I'm not expecting anything before December (HTC constantly says this year), you can't be let down if you set your expectations low.

mobile hot spot is already on my X .......... VZW will charge 20 a month as I understand it.
