Hi,

I have recently got my hands on a hp procure switch. The problem is that the switch is password protected. how can i get around this, is there a back door password list anywhere?

Actually resetting the password is fine, asking how to bypass security measures that are in place is not. If he owns the hardware and is just trying to make it usable then that's fine. I don't know how to do it though.

Hold in the "Clear" button on the front of the switch for 10-15 seconds. Should clear the password. The switch will retain the rest of it's config.

Checked the rules and there isn't any thing stating we can't help people reset passwords, but I base my comments on this previous post....

On my ProCurve 1800, I plug an ethernet cable in port 1 and connect to port 2. Then turn on the switch.
