Yeah it's all set, tried that, flat out does not work in FREESYNC mode. I switched back to 16.9.2 and it works. They dropped the ball a bit, new features are nice, but you can't break FreeSync.

Well exercise SOMETHING with caution. I installed the relive drivers yesterday and didn't have trouble with that (freesync still worked for me) - but ever since installing the HP My Display and the HP Omen drivers about an hour ago I can't get an eyefinity game of Shadows of Mordor to launch. It crashes before it ever loads. I played it two hours ealier today without the HP monitor driver and HP My Display. I couldn't even apply bezel correction with the HP My Display software running. I had to turn it off. So I uninstalled it, set my bezel correction (since my eyefinity display had been lost due to the Display driver update assumably?) and now I can't get the game to launch at all?!?!

You're probably right as I put my camera on AUTO everything. This time I put them side by side (for fun once again... something my wife doesn't quite get, lol!) and took some more pics for you all.The Black Levels on my Philips 4k where much butter than the Omen. Your exposures are different....has to be as I took the same pics.

My Omen 32 on the left (Text Mode, 100 Brightness) and my Philips BDM4065UC on the right (Smart Uniformity Mode, 100 Brightness).
The Philips is definitely blacker however I do find it has blotchy patches of black shades (your pics above show it better than mine) where the Omen's black is very uniform and doesn't suffer at all from this.
There are definitely a few subjective nuances as well that you can see in person/with the naked eye that the camera doesn't pick up which makes me prefer the image of the Omen but they're all pretty minor.
"Both monitors are great overall!" pretty much sums it up for me.

Got it working again after basically reinstalling drivers, discarding my eyefinity setup several times and recreating the eyefinity setup. I'm not sure what happened. It's like the HP software didn't like catalyst/relive driver eyefinity bezel correction. When I applied that all manner of mess broke loose.

The HP monitor utility software also crashes for me on Win10. I installed the monitor driver as well... still skips frames at 75Hz.
I'm getting closer to deciding to return the screen. For my use I might as well get 4k 28" TN or a good 27" 1440p VA or IPS screen for around the same money. 32" is nice for gaming but the extra inches are no real benefit for work at 1440p resolution.

In a weird way I am kinda looking for help.
I have the 29uc88 and the Omen and am having a hard time between the two.

Better contrast and colors (This kinda SHOCKS me)
Freesync is a setting you enable and not a mode you have to enter IE it is available in all color/pic modes
Practically use is gaming and split screen. Cannot see diving this up anymore.
Easier to drive resolution

Much greater usable resolution. 4 screen is a possibility but three seems very practical.

To answer your question about settings I am on the last AMD Hotfix drivers. I think they are like 16.11.15 Crimson. I rolled back from the ReLive driver due to what I was experiencing as WoW issues. WoW kind of sucks anyways cause in the past when I was on the 280 and with the last expack (Warlords) I could never get AA to work without dropping tons of frames unless I used like CMAA or some shit.
Anyways I am using the ICC for Omen and you need to make sure in the Display Adapter it says Omen cause HP has a shitty thing of the installer will actually just unzip the files for drivers and in most cases there is an .exe that it will launch but with the monitor drivers I actually just manually added them.
I run AMD CCC color settings of -5 for Brightness, 92 for Saturation and 98 for Contrast. Then I run the default AMD FreeSync on the monitor for the obvious reasons.
I think the monitor is to bright and oversaturated at the AMD settings but isn't nothing deal breaking and to be honest aside from the newest ReLive drivers hasn't AMD or Windows always had a brightness/contrast and color setting?
That being said I struggle to believe that the LG 29 inch monitor has that good of characteristics. For one Ultra-wide is still an unproven format for a lot of reasons as FPS games do not want to support the 21:9 frame of reference and because of how webpages are formatted you really only gain an advantage if you want to place 2 windows side by side for comparing shit but at that point you have to do more vertical scrolling.
I do not see a color shift. I think most of you guys are actually just seeing a shift because the display is so big that it seems impossible to take in both sides of the back light without moving your head from side to side and this is magnified by the fact that the solid but shit stand places the monitor a "cock's" length up.
I am willing to bet if you place this on a 15 dollar monitor arm (by the way the stand is a lot of the weight) and pushed the monitor below eye level the contrast shifting would be better.
Finally there are a few of you comparing the BLB to a 600-700 Philips 40 inch 4k TV/monitor. This is basically trying to compare a semi nude to a full nude strip club. No comparison. Do we all expect this monitor to perform at Acer Predator levels? Or maybe it is just me but I went from a Dell 2005 FPW to a Asus MS238H and I thought the Asus despite it being a little bigger and LED was night and day over the 2005 FPW. BLB is awful it completely destroys the black scenes and some how people are content with exchanging monitors which to be honest is a nightmare.
You guys can dig up my post history where I had at one time 2 FPWs and was in college and Dell used to be ran by people who did advance exchanges. Now a days Dell can't even refund you for burnt popcorn.
I think the colors are better than my Asus by far and the response time and input lag I can not tell.
For 275 I know this monitor has workable quirks, but I honestly don't believe there is a better monitor out there for the price assuming you guys picked it up at this price 275-300. Unless the LG 29 inch ultrawide hits 200 I think its a no brianer to spend 40-50 to get a lot better workable resolution and to be honest a 2560x1440 is a lot less demanding of an increase from 2560x1080 vs going from 2560 to 3440 for an ultrawide 34 and you need a lot of wide screen real estate.
I also don't think anyone with Nvidia cards should be expecting much from FreeSync monitors to be honest. Sucks about the frame skipping but is there a cheaper 32 inch 2560 at 60 hz monitor?
Alright rant over, now back to HD pornhub.

Head on perfect looks rich and contrasty move head left or right (still in front of monitor approx 30 inches away) and they will lighten up on the sides. I am kinda miffed by it and think it must use a different VA than what my ancient Dell 2407 has.
I feel like the Omen is a great monitor for the price despite some kinda big flaws. You are not going to get a bigger monitor for the price.
The LG 29 (which I 100% expected to lose to the omen) has better contrast (still cannot believe this) better viewing angles and is sharper.
I want to get the Omen to the point it looks at good and I cannot.
I am going to tweak it again tonight and see where I get.
I would call them equivalent in different ways and it boils down to this.

I have three of these Omen monitors and I notice no such thing and have taken pictures to show it doesn't have noticeable color shift and posted them here. I had a friend over recently and asked him if he saw color shift and he said no. He also volunteered there was no backlight bleed in person. Coincidence that it is. He also has the LG 34" widescreen. Another friend also has the same LG 34" panel. I played on it at the last LAN a bit and while it is also a nice monitor there is now way I'd say either has way better image quality than the next. Of course my experiences are anecdotal, as are yours.

Now I want to hold back as the Omen is a good display no doubt but however stunned that the LG's seem better in some ways. Omen in others.

Do I think this is a deal breaker for most uses? No.

Lg has some in upper right corner which is common with 29uc99. Un-noticeable in use at all.
I would pay extra for the HP Omen to be color calibrated out of the box and have the ability to use freesync as a setting not a mode.
That to me is the biggest issue with the omen.
Your buddies with the LG UW can be in photo mode and have freesync on.
I still in a way think UW 1440p is a total ripoff.
I have the Omen and the LG29 and they both combined cost less than the cheapest UW.
Your triple setup is equal to ONE of the 34uc88 UW in cost.
The new Samsung which I think will be the best of them all is 1K. WOW.
With HDR/ dolby vision/ advances in hz around the corner I view whichever one I think will not get a run like my 2407wfp.
I view this a two year plan where I will get another. I just will not pat 1k for a nice UW when I get get this for so much less.

Maybe some peoples eyes are not as sensitive to the color shift. It was the first thing I noticed once putting the Omen on my desk. I even called my 16 yo son in and he saw it right away as well. I know have a Dell G-Sync 27 144hz in front of me and although it looks like crap it has no color shift I can see

I still think the Omen is awesome because IMHO their is no better deal for a big screen right now that is a real monitor.
The picture even with the shift destroys my old Dell and my laptop by 10X.
I wish I did not see it and I still dont know if color shift is a deal breaker because see above.

I actually see what you're saying heftysmurf, I thought that was black crush though, the brightness of the colors increases when i move my head vs. when i look dead on? I can see more detail in the trees with my head to the side vs. dead on. It's slight, but I can see what you're saying. Minor complain honestly, this thing looks fantastic, easily a great hold over until HDR 144hz 4k.
Everything gets whiter at bad angles.
If you are 3+feet away from the monitor the color shift is impossible to see without getting out of/moving your chair.
At 2 feet you have to move your head half the length of the monitor to see it.
Imo its a non-issue.
As for color accuracy, the issue is there is no hardware color gamma setting. Just gotta wait for someone to color calibrate these things.

I hope someone with a professional calibrator does it at some point. This thing isn't very well advertised, I'd be surprised if it's that popular.
I'm still waiting for pro information on response time and input lag.
All this hubba bubba about PQ and none about gaming performance!!!

Getting the 29uc 1st (uw) and the (high res) Omen 2nd has made me understand a lot.
Despite the smaller size the 29 is definitely more immersive and that I think is a function of height.
It is more comfortable to have shorter monitor near your face.
The triple Omen setup is the cats meow as that gets by the issue of lack of immersion because even back your peripheral would have some data.
I think that is a better bet than a 1440p ultrawide at this time and costs the same.
The Omen is so tall that you need to push it back.
Freesync works great on both.
I was able to increase picture quality a good bit by bumping the color up to 7K. Made a world of difference.

I beat Doom 2016 last night set to UW rez and it looked cool having the wide FOV and having the monitor closer but man my eyes hurt.

All three of mine are excellent - I'm not selling but my product dates are all June 2016 (happenstance --- one was purchased a few months ago from HP directly, and two were purchased over Black Friday from Amazon).

So i finally received my omen, set it up today (upgraded GPU to a Radeon R9 Fury).
First thoughts. Huge. Tons of space to work with.
Still need to test for a a few days thought, but something i noticed and wanted to ask here.
I wear computer glasses when i work as i spend a lot of time in front of the monitor. They are not corrective, but relax my eyes and help them with fatigue.
Anyway, i noticed that when looking at text with my glasses on, i can see like a black border around the text itself. Does not matter if it is a website, application, code or game, it is very obvious and noticeable. Never saw that on my previous monitor.
Any thoughts on what that could be?
Also, when looking direct center at the monitor, i can see some 'darkness' on the left an right sides of the screen. If i look directly at that section, goes away.

I wear computer glasses when i work as i spend a lot of time in front of the monitor. They are not corrective, but relax my eyes and help them with fatigue.

Try running through the windows calibration and cleartype, I had some issues with the text before I did this. In terms of darkness, yeah it might look a little different depending on where your head is located because the monitor is so massive.
Input Lag is noticeably higher than 144hz TN and IPS panels, but it's not terrible. For hardcore twitch gamers playing CS:GO or Dota, it could be a problem. For most other uses, including single player games or controller based games, it's not going to be an issue. Plenty of Fallout 4 and Rocket League from me on this monitor, and it's great. Response time is respectable for a VA panel, and is decent enough, though dark transitions will definitely exhibit some ghosting/trailing. Overall, the good greatly outweighs the bad. Blacks are rich and deep and the size of the screen is awesome for gaming. Throw in FreeSync and you have a heck of a monitor.

I've used this and a 144Hz Acer XZ350CU (FreeSync version of the Predator X) back to back and I can't feel any difference on input lag. I couldn't on the Dell 3014 either. I play at 6-15 person LAN parties about every month or two and I've not had any problem switching between any of these monitors and either securing top slot on the leaderboard or being top three in any twitch first person shooter games including Battlefield, Doom, and Overwatch. I notice absolutely no input lag on my Omen displays with the Fury X cards (I haven't tested with Nvida, but I don't think that should matter, unless you are experiencing frame skipping trying to run the Omen at 75hz with an Nvidia card). That's only speaking for me. But I guess I just wonder when people say you shouldnt consider a certain monitor if you are a hardcore gamer. What exactly is a hardcore gamer? It's like superfluous advice. I don't know any hardcore gamers. Are we talking someone like fatal1ty or subzer0? For real world consumers can anyone really tell the difference in current monitor tech? When I used a 37" Samsung HDTV for a short time a few years back I did notice a slight bit of input lag and it wasn't bearable, but when I used a 32" HTDV from Toshiba the input lag was perhaps very slight but bearable to me (for reference). The input lag on the Omen is not even observable to my eyes/senses - whatever actual MS rating it is. Perhaps perceptions on that are different.

I'm not a photo editor and I don't have a calibration tool. I primarily game on my displays. So I quite simply put them all in gaming freesync mode and turned the brightness down to 50 on each. That's it. Works for me. The photo and text settings might look a bit more accurate - but I don't really care that much. It's pretty darn good on the gaming freesync IMO. I have a friend that just bought a monitor calibration tool. I've asked him if he would come by and calibrate one of my monitors. he said he would --- maybe after the holidays. When he does this - I'll share for sure.

That would be great! I was mostly curious about your sharpness and response time settings, but if you leave them default that is irrelevant.
I look forward to seeing what the calibration tool comes up with for more detailed settings. I appreciate all of your help!
Yes, noticeably higher for me when tested again my Acer XF270HU IPS display. Even when on the desktop there is perceptible lag when moving the mouse compared to other high end gaming monitors. This small difference in input lag can be a big deal in competitive shooters like CS:GO. You can also objectively test for higher input lag between two different monitors at this site: http://tft.vanity.dk/inputlag.html. I noticed it was consistently about 15ms behind my Acer. So, the difference is there, though it may not be as noticeable to some people. (I'm on a 290, btw.)

Purchased one from HP Australia about a month ago, cost $799 but you get around $100 back from cashrewards and giftcards (very jealous of the $299 price you americans get!!!)
Awesome monitor, coming from a Acer X34 I was surprised how well the HP stacked up, the lack of glow or BLB makes a big difference IMO.
I have calibrated it using a old colourmunki, will upload ICC profile later.

What was the issue with the Acer? Also, that would be amazing if you hooked us up with the ICC profile.
ICC uploaded, see my first post above. I just used the colormunki smile software so hopefully its decent. Can try again with displaycal if you guys have more experience with using these software.
No real issue with the Acer, just the glow started bugging me after a while. Especially in movies and content that weren't in 21:9 :/
EDIT - Forgot to mention, freesync mode. Brightness set to 60.

My thought on this kind of thing is if you have to try to find a flaw and it doesn't hit you in the face 99.9% of the time when you use it --- who cares. I personally wouldn't send that back. Maybe try adjusting your brightness settings and see if that band in the gray goes away. I suspect it's more noticeable in the picture than to the eye. If that's the case -- who cares. If it's something that really bugs you and you can't unsee it then you can RMA it. Seeking out problems in life doesn't make any sense to me.
