Hello, I have the Canon Elph 300 digital camera and I want to use my computer monitor as a live display so I can easily preview self portraits, etc

Is there a software that will allow me to use the mini-USB to computer USB cable (that comes with my digital camera) so I can use the camera like a webcam?

I mean, what's stopping me from making this $250 camera as convenient as a $20 webcam?

FYI: not that I want to use it as a webcam, it's mainly so I can have a nice large 24" live display of what I'm shooting, etc

Lightroom does tethered shooting with my Canon 5DMII :) But that might be overkill for what you need.

Yes...and it looks like Canon's EOS Utility does it, if you can get your hands on the discs.

Thanks for the link but my camera isn't a SLR, just a point and shoot...
Will still work?
