If you're like me, you hate services running that you don't want or need.
If you installed TurboTax and later uninstalled it, Intuit leaves behind an auto update service that persists in running. It's even in their license agreement. I have no idea why they install a service that stays behind after the install, some research indicates it's a spyware application that none of the antivirus/spyware removers catch.
To uninstall the service, you have to run the command "InstallUtil.exe /u "(enter path to intuit autoupdate service executable here)".
In windows 7, I had to find the path to the InstallUtil.exe file, then take ownership of it and give myself permissions to access it in order for it to work...ymmv.
