I have looked around and maybe I am not looking hard enough. I have a quad core and i would like to run fah on more than one core.

Is there any easy way to do this? I am using the graphical client right now and you can't install 2 graphical clients like you could before.

I am currently using my other cores for seti, einstein, and abc. I can drop at least one of those if I can figure this out. Boinc is so much easier to use.

I don't recall the graphical client ever supporting multiple instances.

The simplest way is to run two instances of the console CPU client, or run a single SMP client. I don't know a way to limit the WinSMP client to just two cores, but you could set up a VM and run LinSMP. The free editions of VMWare are limited to 2 cores, so you'd still have the other 2 free for BOINC.

Alot of us are running F@H on just GPU's now, which leaves all cores of the CPU's free for BOINC or whatever else. If you have a supported GPU, this might be another good option for you.

See the notfred vm folding guide capreppy put together.

Simply install vmware player and download these two files

I tried this, but it turned out to be too complicated for my simple mind. I just opened a console client with my gui client and boinc at 50%. That seems to be working fine on my q8200.

Thanks all.

I couldn't help but notice that you're not running these for [H]ard|OCP. You really should correct this oversight. :p

How do i do that. There was no option in boinc. I now have 3 processors doing fah.

The easiest way is to navigate to our team page for each project, and from there you'll have an option to "Join this team."

abc: http://abcathome.com/team_display.php?teamid=1133
einstein: http://einstein.phys.uwm.edu/team_display.php?teamid=1120
seti: http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/team_display.php?teamid=30839

We have teams established in just about every project out there, and there's a thread here keeping track of what projects are out there and the details of our involvement.

On a quad or dual core, your going to have to add the -smp flag. Google it up quick, otherwise you just going to run a single core client, and not getting very many PPD.
