How to replace screen on Samsung Captivate Glide

I have a samsung Captivate Glide that has a screen in need of replacement or replair if possible because I driopped the phone and my case didn't protect it enough. I only dropped it on the weather strip at the backdoor of my parents house when I came in the door and it didn't work anymore afterwards. The phone powers on, but the screen doesn't get a signal or doesn't work. It fell out of my side pouch as I was coming in the door. How, do I repair or replace the screen because my friend said I need a special tool, but I can't remember what it was and never follows through with replacing it before and just bought another Captivate Glide. Now I want to see if I can still do it.
