i have a black xbox faceplate and it has words over the memory cards slots saying "MEMORY A" and "MEMORY B" question is how can i remove these without scratching them off with a blade. any thing i can rub or wet it with that will remove the painted on lettering? thanks

i tried 70% isopropyl alcohol but that didnt work ill try the acetone

Id imagine acetone will do it, its a decent solvent. Hopefully it doens't fade the plastic though, maybe test it on the opposite side first before you try it on the letters.

ya it faded the plastic a bit but i didnt do it over the face yet. anything else?

Fine grit sandpaper or other improvised mild abrasive.

The problem with stripping paint/dye off plastic is there's a very thin point between stripping it and eating the plastic as well.

i guess i thought theres an easy to soften the paint and easy remove it

Just wet sand it with really high grit paper (2000 grit or so) then polish it so it looks normal.

Another recommendation for sugar! It really doesn't sound like it should work, but it actually works very well!
