I don't get the difference between different batches but apparently the J-batch e5-1660 v3's overclock much better, but how can i find one of these?

How did you specifically get a J-batch E5-1660 v3? I've heard alot of good things about them but i dont understand the difference or how to find them.

Well a J-batch chip will have a J at the beginning of the serial number. Example:

Usually on eBay they will have pictures of the chip that they are selling. If they are selling multiple, then sometimes they will put up a "generic" picture, in which case you can contact the seller and see if they will be willing to specifically send you a J-batch chip like the picture.

I've upgraded all 3 of my X99 systems to E5-1660 v3 CPUs at this point. The fact that you can get them for <$25 these days is crazy. It would almost be a crime to have an x99 motherboard and still have something like a 5820k in it, regardless of what the system is used for.

The J-batch chip is the best overclocker. My other 2 are not J-batch and top out around 4.4-4.5, while the J-batch chip does 4.7 easily.
