How to get into SAFE MODE with a USB Keyboard?

Hi,
How can i get into safe mode with a USB keyboard?

I'm trying to access Safe Mode (WinXP Pro)... i press F8 at bootup...

then i see the list (Normal mode/Safe Mode/etc)... but my keyboard doesnt work.

The Caps Lock light, doesnt even work... suggesting that there is no power going to the keyboard..

so from the list, the only thing i can do is hit the restart button on my case, to restart my pc and go back into windows normally.

turn on USB compatability keyboard mode in the bios

If it brings up the menu, than it should be working. But as stated above, make sure you have the BIOS set to Legacy Mode, or BIOS controlled, etc..whatever the verbage is that is NOT the choice for OS.
