All said and done it was $1198 with the 5% off coupon.

Hoping to mine with the cards for a month or so to recoup some costs, then sell them.

I'm thinking of this with a Ryzen 1400 for my wife but with my luck I'd spend the $1000 and not be able to sell the Rx 470's or not for over $300 each and be stuck with it.

I was planning on building her a Pentium system but if it worked out that I actually netted $300 per card she could have it for less than what I was going to build.

The pot just sweetened.

Due to today's Ryzen coupon discount - Now the same config I bought is $950 shipped (instead of $1043 shipped). The only difference is the lack of the 3TB drive I picked up with mine. But a 3TB drive isn't worth $90 to me, so I'd prefer to buy this one. I might even buy another to resell on ebay.

$950 shipped with coupon code: spring0410

AND I FORGOT IN THAT CONFIG TO CLICK THE $50 OFF BUTTON for today's deal - so you'll need to spend $50 more on some manner of custimzation - maybe more RAM?, and then click the button so you can use the 5% off coupon!!!!

Would any of the parts parted out have any level of warranty? Or will they be danglin' in the wind like parts out of say a Dell/HP etc. that inherit the warranty of the base machine?

most of the time you could go back to the manufacturer for the 1 year ish warranty....based on the part serial number is my guess.

I just bought a second system with a better case for the same price as my first.

Figure after selling on eBay and including fees, the graphics cards should net at the very minimum $600(after the 50% selling coupons I keep getting) so $351.90 for a 1000W power supply, X370 mobo, nice case, extra fans, 240GB SSD, 16GB ram, Ryzen 1700, mechanical keyboard, wifi dongle, and a H60 liquid cooler.. Man you can't beat that...

absolutely!!! incredible deal!

And that's why I didn't cancel my first one when I saw this newer/better deal. The original deal is basically the same thing, maybe $50 or $100 more? --- heck you could throw just about any non inflated price graphics card in that system (maybe a 1060 6GB you find on sale at slickdeals) and throw the whole System on eBay or Craigslist otherwise untouched and make a still make a couple hundred bucks!?! I am also anxious to get the system sooner, vs. later -- and was afraid if I canceled my original order from June 20, I might get some sort of "We're sorry" we are out of RX470 cards" on my new order. So I figured I'd just keep them both coming.

so its $50 less now but you dont get the 3tb hdd? any other changes?
I look at this way.. I exchanged the free 3tb for 8gb more ram to 16gb, upgrade my motherboard from a b350 to x370, and drop my previous total of 981$ to 951$.. along with adding a mechanical keyboard and wireless dongle that I forgot to add on my previous order.. SOLID..

yea, more like $100 less for me.

prices for items change depending on what "deal" you start with.

yeah the overall base price seems cheaper as arranged today.

I think the price delta is more like $100 somehow - at least in the configurations I was playing with, rather than just the $50 indicated by the coupon. It's starting from a different machine. A $1459 machine trading components down, rather than a $779 machine trading components up.

Which begs the question, if there are other configurations that might be more or less valuable after similar component selection.

At this point, with few exceptions I can't believe anyone would skip this deal...

I'm very tempted to build up an 1800X system (looking @ ~$1850 for my build)... then sell the 470s to fund (most) of a 1080Ti... But then I will want a monitor upgrade... and a new desk... and better speakers...

Ugh, the cycle continues. :p

This is tempting as I would like that Corsair tempered glass case and I could basically get it for free even with paypal and ebay fees. Assuming I have no trouble selling off the parts.

Seems like the best deal is to get it as close to $1000 as you can so you can use the 5% off code (I assume that is the cut off, it wouldn't take my $880 build) Then you are looking at roughly a $350 PC plus GPU and monitor.

Might try this as a starting baseline and see what you want from there:
http://www.cyberpowerpc.com/saved/1JT6TG
It has the upscale $180 Corsair 570x case, a nice ASrock X370 K4 motherboard (the cheapest board with the upgraded soundcard codecs), all the other stuff we've talked about in the thread (1000 watt psu, 240GB SSD, Ryzen 1700, mechanical keyboard, USB Wifi, 8GB RAM, dual RX470, closed loop water cooler, etc), and would only be $986 shipped after 5% off coupon.

Sell those two RX470 and you've got less than $400 in the rest of the System. Seeing that case costs no less than $180 everywhere --- you're paying ~$200 bucks for the rest of the components!?!?!

Fyi, link Archaea gave is a good baseline. For me it saved another 20 bucks while getting 16GB ram upgrade and a usb3-to-ethernet dongle for my notebook over the previous order which itself saved me $100 minus the 3TB drive. Actually had to try to find something useful to take advantage of the coupon.

Beware that his baseline has a mechanical keyboard and usb wifi dongle ($10). didn't need either.

Also beware that if you call in to cancel orders too much they will block you from ordering again. Yes, I was warned.

I called and asked if you could add a third RX470 to the order. They said no.

I found out the RX470's they are putting in these machines are MSI brand. That's good, because I think those are popular cosmetically (for resale).

I bought my third system after thinking about it (and being prompted by my cousin who bought four of these).

----------

This is my third config I made -- this doesn't represent the best value this time -- instead it's a mining purposed system - with a cosmetic flair. I picked upt the Taichi board in this one so it has 3 PCI-E X16 slots (only 8x to two and 4x to the third) -- but it'll fit three RX470 cards. So I could vampire one of the RX470 cards from one of the other systems I purchased and try mining with it. RX470 cards at this current time are supposed to be good for mining at the rate of 1500 per year through NiceHash. So if currency holds - it would be $4000-$4500 in mining value for all three cards. (that's gambling --- vs. taking the sure value now on ebay).

Anyway -- I dressed this one up a bit - added the fancy 360mm CPU rad (totally unnecessary, but will look great in the TT P3 case, and chose a bit more expensive modular gold PSU to ensure the wiring can still look decent in the open case.

SO yeah -- -- it'll look real nice while mining. :) But -- it's not that much more on the upgrade prices -- maybe $100 bucks more -- and I figured the looks might help it sell if I go that route on eBay.

That mechanical keyboard for $5 bucks I figure will sell for $50+ on ebay (at least) Those AC wifi dongles are just nice to haves (and can't beat the price). But yeah - you can shave of $10 bucks there and $3 bucks more in the peripherals too if you don't want the CyberPower branded gamer mouse.

The keyboard pulls Bout 30 on ebay. I think I'm just gonna keep my order as is so I can sell my stuff before you guys saturate the market :D

wow, what started as an opportunity to cash in on greedy miners driving up gpu values as turned you into the very thing you were trying to take advantage of and it only took a day or two! I wonder how long till you start considering paying $400 for an rx 470 off ebay.:LOL:

btw, I seriously doubt gpu mining will be viable in a year as both Nvidia and AMD are selling cheaper and more powerfull mining versions of these gpus which can only be bought in bulk. With the increasing mining difficulties already reducing incomes (nicehash calculator doesn't factor this) and with the massive gpu mining farms coming online in the next few months together will squeeze the last profits to be made by the gpu miner at home. Similar to what happened with bitcoin before.

Probably true.

Maybe still be worthwhile to get in while the getting is good. :). I now have a taste of it via my two Fury X cards and a 1080ti card at my house running the last couple days (started Monday night). This is the first time I ever tried it and I wanted to see what the fuss was about.

My stats

https://new.nicehash.com/miner/19BtZuQUeV319VE1ZShNbfncWotadTvTKn

The taste?
It tastes like free money right now - to the order of $400-$500 a month. And I gotta tell you that taste is quite sweet.

Now I just gotta decide if I'm selling or keeping these six RX480 coming in the next week or two via these three systems.

how are you getting $400 a month? might need to keep these cards.

how are you getting $400 a month? might need to keep these cards.
Well I'm not yet. Payday is Saturday and I should get like $120? We'll see if it's real then after my first partial week of mining. That's just predicted payment now at current crypto value.

Two Fury X in one comp
One 1080ti in another

A free mining app called nicehash. (Well not free, they take 3% of your compute cycles while mining, but that's minimal). Nicehash pays your bitcoin wallet directly, weekly, in partial bitcoins.
A free bitcoin wallet through coinbase.com is where I'm mining to a collecting the coin.

what you should be worried about is can they deliver? how are they finding so many rx 470s?

regarding prices...it took weeks for the price to go up so expect weeks for the prices to go down. think the last gpu hype run lasted a quarter for amd/nvidea to boost production but then they paid the price for it so they ain't doing that again. so probably till next video card generation release.

I priced my wife's to $1,009 before 5% off so pretty good value again assuming they can fulfill the RX470's and the value stays consistent for the next few weeks/months.

It's more than a "pretty good" value...

Figure after selling the included two RX470 on eBay including fees, the graphics cards should net at the very minimum $600!

So those two GPU sales alone make your purchase price $400 or even $350.

For that $350 or $400 you get a 1000W Gold Rated power supply ($100), a nice well reviewed X370 mobo($150), a nice case ($80), 3 extra RGB fans($40), 240GB SSD ($50), 16GB DDR ram ($100), Ryzen 1700 8 core CPU ($300), mechanical keyboard ($100), AC WiFi dongle ($10), Closed loop liquid cooler ($60). (and extra cyberpower branded keyboard and mouse) The remaining stuff totals out over $1k in street price from amazon or newegg.

If this was packaged in a way that didn't require selling a couple cards on eBay there'd be a line a mile long for this deal.

IMO, it's far better than a 'pretty good' value...

So long as the RX470 value holds. And it WILL hold (or even increase) until the mining difficulty jumps up -- which is suspected to be in the next 3-4 months. (not the next 2 weeks).

Mining gets more popular every single day. I've heard there are about 40,000 new miners jumping on the bandwagon every single day.
Both Nvidia and AMD cards (used and new) are slowing raising in price weekly as more and more miners jump into the fray.

There hasn't been a great deal on slickdeals for video cards lately - and the reason is they don't need to discount cards to sell everything they have that is a midrange, efficient power consumption card.

Looks about the same to me
http://www.cyberpowerpc.com/saved/1JT8X6

Use Sprint0410 coupon code for an additional 5% off

Looks like it'd be about $1k for a awesome machine.

16GB RAM free upgrade is today's special.

The build I made yesterday that include the components I would want to keep is around 150 bucks more today. There probably still value in other builds but certain components have definitely went up in price.
