I doubt it was black listing of domains, but you can try using OpenDNS for your DNS servers and set up an account. You can black list domains from there. So, when they try going to facebook.com, they are not able to resolve the name (or it resolves to a different URL saying it's blocked).

thanks for the reply. i even tried in opendns website but still its not blocked.

On my AC66U router I use the open source firmware DD-WRT. Within' you can go to Access Restrictions and block domains by URL.

On my RT-56U under firewall settings there are places to put in keywords or URL's to block. I assume the AC66U has the same thing?

@ Urmom opendns is working after changing dns server.

@Mopower Yes but we cant block site which is having https

@Skillz :Are you able block https sites also If yes, can you please provide the link of that Firmware .thanks

i was able to do it with openDNS make sure you modify the proxies,

i think theres a similar free product called k9 or something

we are having a small office and leased connection . OpenDns is working Perfectly but i want to know is it possible to block through ASUS Router RU-AC66U

Why not setup a Squid server? You can fine-tune your access controls there much better.

@ Dark Shade, Not possible to do with squid server .I wanna do it with ASUS Router only.

is there any possible way to add another static ip? .Right now My ISP IP is 119.XXX.XXX.XX and DVR IP is 125.XXX.XXX.XXX. Is there any other way than Port Forwarding?
please help thanks

I already contacted support team regarding this HTTPS and i got reply from ASUS support team like this

" the URL fiter function just can Filter http website
instead of the https website.

Because https website have a more complex Encryption.
Temporary the URL fiter function can not support fiter https website.

Sorry for the inconvenience. Thank you for understanding! "

Hi arch im using OpenDNS right now and if we change DNS Server to 8.8.8.8 ,4.2.2.2
OpenDNS is unable to block these sites.

Of course it doesn't. If you change it to 8.8.8.8 or 4.2.2.2 then you aren't using OpenDNS any longer. You can either:

1. stop users from changing the DNS servers on the PC

or

2. block requests to unknown DNS servers from getting out to the internet. i don't know if you router can do that.

Hi arch .second option is not possible through my router. I did first option by blocking users changing DNS
