Been looking. I work so can't really stand outside a Micro Center. Besides their latest 3080 drop from ASUS was rather absurdly priced.

I think best bet will watch for the Best Buy drops. What I also need to do is see which models have compatible full cover waterblocks since I intend to block it.

This whole situation is unf---ing really screwed up. I've stopped doing daily checks on all the stores and I've turned off my Ebay searches. I'm on the EVGA My Notifies list. When my number comes up, it comes up. I also work, sometimes long hours, and I really need to concentrate on my job.

This sums it up. Not only do you have to get very lucky to get in an order for a card but even if you get that far you may not even get it due to other bullcrap. It could either get cancelled or in my case, stolen by some degenerate during shipping.

Well, holy poop balls! Just got in an order for a PS5 at Best Buy! Hopefully I'll have better luck with it making it to my store than the 3080.

I'm about to give up myself. I ended up getting premium snail monitor which is better than Stock Drops but still have been unable to score a card in the last 2 weeks. It sounds like my best chance was the every other Tuesday BestBuy drops, but that hasn't happened this week like it was supposed to.

If I don't get a card in the next week or two I won't be renewing. I'll just take my chances on Newegg shuffle or put my new card blinders back on lol.

Paying a grand for anything with less than 16Gb Vram is a hard pass for me so the 3080 keeps looking worse. I realize the card performs great but it just feels like way to much for a 10Gb card.

I think this is the new price point we're going to see. Gaming has become really mainstream now with all the streaming that's out there. Everyone stuck inside with Covid only boosted its popularity. Then the BC boom. Finally with how many people were eager to drop $1000+ on the 20series, the days of spending $300 for a top end card are over.

I got there too, to the point I was making offers on 3090’s advertised locally on Facebook. It’s pretty damn easy to start justifying a decent, near-ish MSRP, deal on a 3090. Especially given the cost creep of 3080’s. Good luck on your hunt man, really blows about your 3080 FE.

Much appreciated! My 3080 FE order isn't quite cancelled yet so part of me is hoping that it'll act as a sort of pre-order for the next drop but Best Buy couldn't confirm to me one way or the other (two different CS reps said different things). Plus, the next drop would have to happen before Monday to see what happens there. After that my order will be officially cancelled.

If the PS5 I ordered ends up making it to my store I'll be plenty happy to where I won't worry about the missing 3080 nearly as much but I'll still try and get in another order and hope for the best.

IMHO you are extremely unlikely to get an amazon, newegg, or B&H card via stock drops or snail monitor. I clicked the links immediately when they dropped numerous times over the last couple weeks and could never make it through checkout.

Your best chance is to wait for the Best Buy drop that happens every other week. Everyone says they are normally on Tuesday but it was Friday this week. When the best buy drop starts you have about 10 seconds to find your card and get it queued up. Make sure you have an account with all of your data including payment method stored and are pre-logged in. Have your email up as you will need to enter an authentication code. I had multiple browsers up and multiple accounts signed in but panicked a bit as it was my first time going through the process. By the time I made it through checkout they were gone. The website still showed availability but the add to cart buttons never came back to life or when they did it was just an error.

You can keep hammering the site for another 5 minutes or so because you see availability but I'm pretty sure the cards are already gone when you start receiving weird "not available at this location" or similar errors. You'll scramble to pick other locations but it won't matter. I went through this a couple Tuesdays ago when I made it to the BB site at the tail end of things. I'm pretty sure these are just caching issues, the server playing catchup, etc.

You can also have the verification code sent via text message which is quicker than the email method. During PS5 drops the site will start to slow down and maybe give errors during the steps in the process. If this happens, keep trying. Once the site comes back it seems to save what step you made it to in the process so you won't have to do it again such as entering your username and password and entering the verification code.

I ran into some errors and oddities while trying to get a PS5 yesterday but I keep trying and eventually got the order in.

where is this email verification? i have them saved under my profile but didnt know about the email. although i imagine pointless but instead of me checking every few days wasting their server cycles if i can just get emailed that would help both best buy and me. xD!

What do you do, just load up the pages of the cards you want and refresh constantly?

On the page of each card you want click "save". Then you can go to your cart and see the status of all the cards you saved on one page.
