clarify? Thats exactly the question he asked

A GF4 is alot faster than a GF3.

I got one comp with G3 Ti 200 128 (MSI) + 1 with a G4 ti 4200 8x...they are in identical mobos, RAM + CPU's the ti 4200 is about 1.5x faster than the g3 card I got...not quite twice as fast.

a ti4200 is a surprizingly capable card for its age; the one in my second rig will play farcry at 800x600 with low/medium settings perfectly well, and bfV at 1024x768 with settings on medium. This is at fully playable framerates, it will handle higher res's but it gets choppy when the action gets hectic.

they have double the vertex shaders (2 vs 1 for the GF3) which means if you're playing any game thats not exclusively polygon rendered stuff (like quake3 and before type tech)...but instead pixel and vertex shaded games (ie farcry, doom3 etc) then the perf boost is huge. That and the GF3 runs at 175-220MHz (depending on the version). The Ti4200 starts at 250 and is easily OCable to ti4600 speeds (300core) which almost gets it to Radeon 9500 levels.

I forgot to mention the Gf3 ti 200 was overclocked about 20% the msi card came with a great heatsink on that one...he he... the ASUS ti 4200 I had had NO RAMSINKS and could barely sustain a 15% overclock...at least in my rigs....I have since sold the Gf3 moved the g4 to the other system and run a Sapphire 9800 PRO.
