How many here got there RTX 5090 / 5080 Out of Stock Edition

Sold my 4090 for 1910.
Lot of people called that 4090, but for a lot of buyers it will have ended up being one of the cheapest gpu ever..... a bit like the nicehash purchase.

We can suspect a lot of those people waiting in those line (real or virtual) is not just for the chance to get to buy a $2000 gpu..... it is for the chance to buy it while they can still sell their 4090 for more than they bought it.

It's a repeat of the 2020 situation with the release of 30 series. Back then I sold my 2080 Ti for what I had originally paid, after being lucky enough to secure a 3090.

This time around the market is even drier, and I'm in no hurry to upgrade. I'd like a 5090 but I'm waiting for the right model and price. Ebay shows 4090 FE's are going for $2300 plus, which is insane.... I paid $1599+ tax in November 2022!

That's not how the math works at all.
Why not. This is first time I have paid out of pocket 1700$. Last time I did this was with a 1080 Ti. Usually cost to upgrade is 100-300$ for me.

I had 10 1080 Ti all of which I recovered the price of. 2080 and 2080 Ti were practically free. 3080 I had 4 of them and made a profit. 3090 was a free upgrade. All my 3070s were free for mining.

When I got my 4090 it was only 200$ above what I sold my 3090 Ti for which was a free upgrade from 3090.

So this is first time I practically have paid an amount which I don’t plan to recover in full.

That's not what you said, you said you "paid less than MSRP." You paid $3600. And you received $1900 for your old card when you sold it. If you had said something like, "out of pocket cost" was $1700 that's different.

That is what internet forums are for
+I can't get my 5090 on launch day Nvidia sucks
+Missing ROPs
+It has been 2 weeks I can't buy a card It is the end of the world I QUIT
+I work a day job is there any hop i will ever get a card?
+Does this Pre built with a 5080 have a good price?
+Nvidia sucks.

mad mad mad at the world.

Does that sound about right? Did i miss anything?

Sold my 4090 for 1910. Means I payed less than MSRP for this beauty. Market is good and bad at the same time.

Gave the kids a discount.
I almost did the same thing myself, but couldn't bring myself to pay basically over $1,000 more than what the card retailed for here in the U.S. I sold my second 4090 FE to a member here and have pocketed a little cash after going with an Aorus Master 5080 instead. Some might say I downgraded which I sort of did, but the 5080 maxes out my 1440P monitor at the 240hz refresh rate on the games I play. Right now I'm happy, but if I find that elusive Aorus Master 5090 air cooled card I will probably go that route if the price is right. Also I'm not judging you for doing what you did to get your 5090. It's nice to see the enthusiast hobby is still out there in these not so great to be an enthusiast times.

Card price now
3742$ without tax
Shipping from UK not included
I paid 3600 all in
Person gave me a receipt with 2500 pounds he paid in UK without shipping to UAE (which amounts to 3227$)

I tried over a month to get a 5090 without success. So I am pretty happy right now. Plus the card is an absolute champ.

IMO you don't have to explain or break it down for anyone. If you're happy then that's all that matters. Enjoy your new card.

At Newegg.ca the ASUS rog astral oc 5090 is selling for CAD $4,452 before taxes.

So $5,000. This is without a markup. That’s almost $3,000 more than I paid for my 4090 FE from BestBuy.

And there’s no stock. Any newly stocked cards sell out within two minutes.

So yeah, you did great. You paid a great price AND you actually have the card. Life is fucking short. We need to live NOW.

I miss days you can just walk I am store and buy gpu you want. PC's hardest part is GPU and often get more closer to MSRP. Corporate greed is killing gamers. Most parts are insanely expensive. Trying to save up for PC and it's really cost prohibited.

Yeah but people keep asking me the same question. Meanwhile everyone on MSI discord is buying a useless 1600 w PSU for 700$ when Leadtek 1600W can be had for 400$.

I loved my 4090.....but my Tuf 5090 is a massive improvement. People try to marginalize the 30% gain but it's substantial....like a man with a 5" penis now growing to 6-1/2"!!!

That's my experience as well. 5080's sell out quickly, but you can still get them relatively easily.
Today was the first time I was able to put a 5080 in my cart in Amazon which would have been impossible during the rest of the week. MSI's store also had a huge amount of 5080s today for sale WITHOUT being bundled in with some nonsense. However according to Gamer's Nexus's estimations the ratio/difference of 5080s to 5090s being shipping is enormous. Almost 10:1 or something like that. It was in one of their recent videos.

I think the 5090s are going to be very difficult to get for a while outside a combo and outside of Nvidia's waitlist program.

In my hunt for a non-combo 5090 the one confusing retailer has been B&H. All their 5090s are "Waiting List Only" which is a little confusing to me that they basically mean that if you hit the "Notify me when in Stock" button it means you are on the waitlist? I haven't been able to figure that out. Not heard or seen one stock alert for B&H and they aren't a small retailer.

I figured the same thing with B&H. I've been on the "waitlist" for 3 months.

I've been able to add plenty of 5080's to my cart from various places. Though Amazon is a bit of a shit show. It seems to be the easiest one for bots to exploit.

In my experience, B&H is fucking useless. I've gotten on waiting lists for a lot of things and never heard back from them or if I did, it was months after I got the product somewhere else.

Was able to snag an MSI Gaming Trio 5090. Newegg showed the Aorus card I wanted but of course it was gone within seconds. Then I seen the MSI card and pulled the trigger.

Got an MSI Gaming Trio 5090...the TUF OC 5090 shown in one of the pics is going to another member at my retail cost (tested both for ROPs - at his request). I am lucky enough to live near a Micro Center and lucked out in a BBY drop. Had to wait in line for the TUF OC a decent amount. They're both excellent cards but the Gaming Trio matches my 5080.

Received my 5090 FE from Nvidia last Friday and got around to installing it this morning. It's definitely a slick piece of hardware. It would not output a recognizable signal via HDMI to my LG B4 display, but would to my old Dell 24" Ultrasharp. I updated drivers and then it worked on my LG. Knock on wood, all seems well so far. It is immediately noticeably smoother in Space Marine 2 than my previous 4090 FE. Running at an 80% power limit through MSI Afterburner (ran the 4090 at an 80% power limit, too), it did not exceed 65C during gameplay. I've read elsewhere folks think it's loud but it doesn't seem any louder or quieter than the 4090 FE. Granted my desktop is nearly 10' from my chair and my display and speakers are in the way, which dampens system noise. Confirmed with GPU-Z to have the full 176 ROPs.

15 years or so ago when I was in grad school, I went back and forth between buying a Radeon HD 5750 or a 5770 for weeks before ultimately deciding I couldn't afford the extra $50 for the 5770. Glad staying in school forever was a good investment.

See you guys have that GPU sag bracket I been eyeing up on Amazon. I got a free bracket with MSI 4080 Suprim been using that but think the ones in the above photos is superior since it won't tip over.

I been So addicted watching GPU trackers for the past few weeks the only thing that is coming up are 5070ti cards which would be good if I was using my 3070 yet.

I was fortunate enough to just walk into microcenter and bestbuy randomly in the middle of the day when nobody was around during my lunch break while they were restocking. Got three RTX5090's over the course of 2 weeks and didn't even want them... lol

Got the same card and it will be here hopefully by mid week. Looking forward to seeing what it can do.
I switched on the OC bios before first boot and left it in ever since ☺️
