Do any of you think ATI will respond to nVidia's SLI announcements or do they think it's just a flash in the pan?

It won't take nearly that long if ATI plans on saving face.Jerry1978 said:i'm sure ATi will eventually present their own solution within a year or two.

AGP came out and effectively killed SLI. That's why it wasn't introduced onto any more cards. Considering that SLI is on the NV40 die, I would think it is safe to say it will work accross the 6800 line when PCI-E sees the light of day. Either way, buying a 6800U now and another one at upgrade time may very well be appealing to some. Nice to have at least as an option.SnakEyez187 said:Why do you assume it's going to be on every card? Did 3dfx use it for anything other than the voodoo2? Did XGI use a dual setup on anything other than the highest performance? Is Ati making any dual and up cards inside any price range you can afford? Maybe you need to understand how Nvidia makes money and think about what mid-range SLI would do to their own profits a little bit more
