Inspired by Cornelious's thread.
Since so many people have mentioned overclock percentage and no one has stepped up to the plate with a new thread, here it is. :D

For the mathmatically challanged: Simply take your overclock in Mhz and divide it by the stock processor Mhz. Heres mine for an example:
Barton 2500+ stock Mhz = 1.83
My overclock = 2.42
2.42 / 1.83 = 1.32 or 132% of normal
Thus an overclock of 32%

or you could do this

[Overclocked speed (mhz) - Stock speed (mhz)] / Stock Speed = .435 * 100 = 43.5%

OK guys, poll is up. For some reason the site wouldn't let me put the poll up until now. But here it is.

~20%, athlon 64 3000+ 2GHz @ 2.45GHz

gonna try to get a better heatsink this week, see if there's any more in it

2.2GHz -> 2.4GHz. Pathetic. The CPU just runs too hot (A64 CG) and I'm not going to waste money on high end cooling.

Mobile 2400+
Stock = 1.8 GHz @ 1.45 v
Max stable OC = 2.88 GHz @ 2.125v
Air cooled

XP2500M oced to 2725mhz
929Mhz OC
12.5*218 @ 2.125v

51% overclock :D

water cooled

CPU,NB,GPU..all water cooled

still working on a higher oc...going for the 1ghz :D
but i think my ram is holding me back...anyone have any idea's?

Holy crap. What are your reported temps? I'd be concerned about your CPU's longevity.

my max LOAD temp is 98F

i idle around 93F to 95F

room temp is 70F
i have a controled AC in my comp room..kinda have to have it..i own 12 machines :D

Did any of you who voted on OVER 100% acctualy get that high or ur calculator is accting funny on you ???????? :p

I'm wondering if they didn't drop the 100% off an OC/Stock calculation. An overclock that impressive should be posted.

isn't my e-penis gigantic?

How do you figure that bud? a 100% overclock on your 2500+ is a clock of 3.6GHz.....I guess you've got some more work to do.

looks like I am going to have to dig up my "special" xp1700 for this thread.
thanks guys, now I am going to have to order a dfi mobo and make an LN2 block :D

25% with my current P4 2.8C @ 3.5 (the one I voted)

My record was 64% with my P4 1.6A and second was a 1.8A @ 2,826 57%.

I got my mobile 2500 to 3200 with ddr333 memory( 200*11) and I even had it all the way to 2.5 or so, but right now even at this settings it's giving me bogus tenperatures like 70C or so, and my computer's not even hot. Oh yeah, and I tried 2.3 again and I wouldn't even go into windows. Boy this inconvinient

that's ridiculous... lol I'd never do that on air. well i used to. heh What're your temps?

xp1700 (1.47) @ 2.55 ghz = 73% O/C

1.75V, i think with some decent water cooling, 2.7+ ghz is on the cards :)

Pardon my language, but, fuck that is a nice overclock on a 1700+.

Last time i've seen a 100% overclock on air cooling was celery 300A .Now max i can get with diferent procesors is 50-60% and nothing more!
P.S.
I work with computers ( shop, service, internet and gaming cafee ) so i have a lot of them to fidle with.

AMD 3500+

Stock @ 2.2 (1.45 volts)

Overclocked @ 2.625 (1.60 volts)

='s a 19.32% OC

:( stupid athlon 64's don't get high % #'s :D

Not very high %'s.....but a 2.6-2.7GHz s939 is nothing to scoff at. ;)

I dont think over 100% is really possible. It should have been left off the poll, b/c the people who put that probably just forgot to subtract the 100% from the formula you gave them. (its possible, just not likely that someone is going to take that low end of a CPU and try to OC it) Ex: 2.0Ghz P4 or Celeron OC'd to 4Ghz... etc.

You should have given them this formula to make sure they DONT F--- it up.

(OC'd speed - original speed) / original speed

Ex: (3600-2400) / 2400
1200/2400 = .50 or 50%

My current OC is 50%, though my old 1.6a would do 2.5Ghz easily... and I was mobo limited on that old board. If I had tried it in my IC-7 it probably would have done 2.6Ghz++ or about 62% OC.
