I was wondering, since I am new to the whole HTPC scene. When I play my Emulators, the energy bars and etc. are always on the same place throughout the game, I am thinking, wouldn't this cause burn ins? How am I able to prevent this? I have a 27inch HDTV btw.

Keeping contrast down is the biggest key in preventing burn-in. I have played many games for hours upon hours on both my current Hitachi RPTV and my previous Sony RPTV without a trace of burn-in. Pickup Sound & Visions Home Theater Tune Up for $15-$20 and do a basic calibration of your set. Picture quality will improve and you will help prevent the possibility of burn-in.

Not to my knowledge but I have heard you can rent HTT or Avia at some blockbusters/hollywood videos.
