I'm getting an ABIT AV8 in soon but before I fiddle around and maybe screw something up is there a 100% way I can find out if the AGP lock is working right?

I'm wondering the same thing. I'm going to be buying the same motherboard as you. Let me know how your board treats you :)

Also, you might want to try ClockGen or just try bumping up the FSB to 220 or so and see if it randomly reboots.

Someone on these forums damaged their board because they didn't know they had their lock off, I don't think thats the safest way lol :p

bump.

Anyone? Is there some kind of program I can run to find the agp/pci mhz???

correct me if i am wrong, but i would wager that by tinkering in the BIOS you would be able to see that.

sisoft sandra does it doesn't it... or CPU-Z???? or maybe both... you should be able to see your speeds anyway... not that it will tell you "your lucky the PCI/AGP lock on your mother board is...... enabled" no you'll have to check to make sure it is at what you set it at

As far as I know anyway but I haven't got an A64 setup yet
