Artificial intelligence continues to benefit us everyday. I know Elon thinks it's going to kill us off, but for now it's making nuclear reactors safer by helping to detect cracks in nuclear reactors. As long as AI can do stuff like that for us I'm completely fine with it. If Skynet arises then I'm signing up for the resistance. “Regular inspection of nuclear power plant components is important to guarantee safe operations,” Mohammad Jahanshahi, an assistant professor at Purdue’s Lyles School of Civil Engineering, said in a press release. “However, current practice is time-consuming, tedious, and subjective and involves human technicians reviewing inspection videos to identify cracks in reactors.”
